I was feeling bad and thought maybe I could try taking what was left of the anti-biotic that made me itch so bad. I have always felt like the reaction I had was because of taking Musinex with it. So before I took the pill, I got the Benedryl out. Took the pill and within seconds started itching. My body got so hot and itchy. I went out to the garage to get Tom ready to take me to the ER, but after sitting in the cool air, I was getting okay. Didn't stop the itching, but otherwise I was okay. I finally quit itching, and went inside to watch TV.
The next day I woke up to my arm looking like I had been in a fight with a cat.
Later I just kept feeling worse. So about 3:00 I had Tom take me to the ER. I sat there till 12:32. Mostly in the waiting room. I will be posting about something that happened there later.
I had 2 breathing treatments, chest x-ray, blood work, and an EKG. But mostly I sat in a wheel chair. The doctor came in listened to my lungs, wrote out scripts, and left..about 3 minutes Tops! Over 30 min later, breathing treatment. I was done at midnight, and I think Tom coming to get me maybe hurried them along to get me released. I sat there for 30 min. after the treatment. I called him at Midnight and it only takes about 15 min tops to get to that hospital. There is another one closer to us, but everytime I have had an IV there, it takes them 3-5 times to find a vein. Last night at the other ER...1 stick.
Feeling better today.

I am glad you are feeling better today. Sounds like you are possibly allergic to Benadryl. I found out that I was allergic to it after having my twins when I broke out in the pregnancy rash right after giving birth. They gave me Benadryl and then I really turned red all over. I was SO miserable with birth and an emergency c-section on the second twin.

Actually the Benadryl helped. It was the anti-biotic I was allergic to. Sorry it didn't work for you though. Any kind of reaction is not good.

@Ghostlady Oh, I see! Any reaction to meds is bad. Make sure they put that on your medical information that you are allergic to that antibiotic!

I hope they figure out what it is that made you feel like you needed to finish that antibiotic.
