Today's shopping trip down town. (7/2/2025)

I went down town shopping today. I had to go today, even though it was dull, because I had to get my repeat prescription. Mum was going to the house group in Church aswell today, so she gave me her shopping list, Tesco club card and £50 in cash before she went out. I set out after Mum had gone out. I went to the toilet by the Cathedral first, then I went and got some more photos printed. After that I went to WH Smith. I posted a card Mum had given me to post in a post box inside the post office, and then went to a cashier to get a parcel delivered. The parcel I sent is the last but one lesson from the London Art Course correspondence course. I had it tracked so I know it will get to its destination. Now that that's on its way, the last lesson is drawing people. I'm not very good at drawing people so I don't know how I'm going to get on with that. After I'd posted that, I went to the magazines in WH Smith, looking for some art magazines. I got 2 - Start Art: Pastels for Beginners and Start Art: Drawing for Beginners. I know I'm not a total beginner, but I should be able to get some hints and tips from those. Both of them have sections on portrait drawing, so I hope that will help me with my final lesson of the London Art Course correspondence course. After I'd paid for those, I went to get my repeat prescription. When I'd got that I went off to the down town Tesco. Mum wanted 2 lots of strawberries, lettuce and some tuna and sweetcorn sandwich spread for her jacket potatoes. I could get none of them from the Tesco! I put my basket back and left with nothing! I went to The Works. I found some black card which I thought would be good for sophisticated male cards, so I got that for £1. Then I went and got some canvases. I got 2 smallish canvases (about 20cm by 20cm) for £3. Then I got a heptagon shaped canvas, (which says it is 30cm by 30cm), and a circular canvas which has a diameter of 30cm. Both of the strange shaped canvases were £3 too. So that was £10 in total. I went to pay. The guy asked me if I'd like a bag, and I said yes. I asked for one with cherries on. It was £1 for the bag, so that made a total of £11 altogether. I've put the bag now to put the paper recycle in before it goes into the council's bag to go outside ready for the recycle bin man, because the paper bag we put them in originally has ripped and is unusual! That bag is now part of the recycle waiting for next fortnight's recycle bin man! Then I went off to Iceland (the shop not the country!) I got Syd's Chinese Style Chicken curry, Mum's Sweet and Sour chicken, a paella and most of the stuff I couldn't get from Tesco. I got 2 lots of strawberries and some Iceland own brand tuna and sweetcorn sandwich spread. They only had Iceberg lettuce, and on the TV once we were told that Iceberg lettuce doesn't have any nutritional value, so I didn't bother getting it. Mum likes the mini gem lettuces anyway. I also treated myself to hazelnut areo, which was new. I went to pay and it came to £15 exactly. When I'd finished all the shopping, I went to the toilet by the Cathedral and then I made my way home. It has been spitting on me and raining a bit for a while, but while I was walking round Stowe Pool it started coming down in buckets! I didn't have my coat with the hood on, so I got drenched! To add insult to injury, it was very breezy too! I couldn't wait to get home! When I got home, I got out of my wet coat and took off my shoes, changed my socks and put my slipper socks on. I gave Mum her change, shopping list and club card, then I unpacked the groceries and put them away. I then had a well deserved sit down, and my lunch, while watching the telly. What did you lot get up to today? I hope you are all well. Enjoy the rest of your day.

I hope you are well and didn't catch cold or fever after getting wet. Here we don't even have a single drop of rain. The temperature is increasing. Days are getting warmer everyday. It seems a fiery summer is round the corner.

Thank you very much, that's very kind of you. I wish it was sunny here, but it's still dull and I think it's been raining even if it's not now. I hope you did everything you set out to do.

I hope you had success with that. I'm glad it's sunny where you are. Dull and rainy again here today.
