Stay at home

The little extra work of riding the bus, plus being short staffed, plus having to take Bob to pick up the car that had to have repairs really tires me out. I must be getting old.
I look forward to having one day a week that I absolutely can stay right at home. Today is it.
We have been short handed all week. Everyone is sick. Some of the kids are sick. Mostly Influenza A, but some covid, some stomach bug.
People please stay at home if you are sick and do not share your germs.

I pray my son, his girlfriend and my husband don't get those sicknesses you mention. They have jobs where they interact with the public on a daily basis.

Some people, for various reasons, catch everything. I am lucky not to. One of my coworkers has thyroid issues and she gets sick all the time.

Good advice. Sure hoping I don't get it. It is spreading in our area.

If you feel like you might catch it, you can wear a mask to protect from other's germs. I know during the pandemic I put lavender essential oil in my mask and stayed well.

Hubby sneezes a lot but it is more allergies. I think we all went on holiday and got germs from other places and cannot seem to get over it. I am lucky to usually only get mild symptoms.

@GardenGerty The allergies are certainly coming in now. We have bad air quality out here from after the fires too. Thank goodness when we can all get away with just mild symptoms!!

I have been hiding in my room trying to recover from flu. I had two flu shots and don't know why I got it. I was tested and they said it was flu. There are two kinds A and B I believe. The other choice was Covid-19 but I did not want that either. Now Norovirus is rampant. I will mostly stay home.

Why did you have two flu shots? I did not know that you could do that. Yeah, hiding so as not to share the germs. We hear about type A and type B influenza. I think the last I had any it was B, which is not so virulent. Locally we are seeing a lot of strep along with flu. Strep you can treat with antibiotics. I had norovirus in the fall. Yuck.

I think we need fresh air to feel better and dilute the germs, but we do not need to be around people. I am reading that flu is worse than usual this year. Our superintendent got covid.

@GardenGerty Yes, many schools have had to shut down in Mississippi. It's still going around here.

I have to admit that I live just chilling out at home in my retirement. I'm enjoying my recliner.

I don't understand why people just HAVE to get out and about when they're sick... And you know they won't wear a mask and help keep other people from getting sick...
People are stupid! That's the only thing I can think of to explain it.

They do not believe it can happen to them or that they can make others sick.

Sadly some places don't let you stay home without risking your job

And some people cannot afford to miss a pay check. Some people do not keep their kids home because of work complications. At times I have felt my student was better off at school with me monitoring him than he would be elsewhere, when sick.

I know that sometimes people do not realize that they or their children are sick, but if you know, you should all stay home.

I would be burned out too and I think of myself as young!
Well, much can be said about younger generations but still...
I'm almost 30, for context.
I hope you got to enjoy your day off.

My lead teacher says I am the most fit and strongest seventy year old she knows. I still need to cut back, I think. I will be seventy two this summer.
