A Week of Misfortunate Incidents and Bad News

This week have been an emotionally hard-hitting and exhausting for me. It had many downs than ups. Besides I've overexerted myself on Thursday at work, in efforts to improve my performance review score to go up in the next couple of weeks. It had wiped me up. But this whole entire week sucked for me. Remember I told you about getting my ideal cat for cat two last week? Well, he was adopted out the day before I went to the shelter. Since my shelter is interviewing candidates for a new volunteer coordinator. I have no way of knowing which cats are adopted out until I get there on Wednesday. I did message the shelter via FM Sunday: he was available then. But then he was gone. His name was Nelly. So I'll keep looking for cat two, and hope to get one by St. Patrick's Day, my late mother's 11 year anniversary since she passed away. Then as for Social Security situation, I never received the letter in the mail. My brother and I talked to them on Wednesday morning, waited 1.5 hours, and then found out they screwed up again. This pattern is similar to what happened last month. So we have another phone interview to get things straightened out on 2/19/25, a day before I have a meeting with Raenell and Danielle on my job search situation lately. Why do I need to have another phone interview, which I had one in October last year? At this rate, I won't get the money, and won't be able to quit until next month, hopefully by mid-March. And to chalk it up this crummy month, it took me three weeks and two emails to get Erin from HR to get an answer to accommodate me at work. I don't trust her. I believe she won't give them not me, not even the 50/50 suggestions of morning pre-sort/afternoon upstairs as previously mentioned to me and Randy back in November. And two weeks ago, it was my two year anniversary at Goodwill. I didn't get anything, until last Thursday, a card unsigned. They don't care about me or my mental and physical health. Remember I told you about my dream job working at the library? Well, they must've filled up both positions awhile ago. It's no longer listed on the website. So I'm still disappointed and clueless on why I was passed over. So that was my week so far. The only bright spots were Bailey finally getting her nails trimmed by a groomer, and landing one interview with Chuck E. Cheese as a team member-pizza maker next week. Even if they pay less than Goodwill, I don't really care anymore. I'll take any job I can to leave Goodwill by April if not earlier.

I'm sorry about all the problems you've been having. There are tons of cats that need homes. I am a fanatic about Siamese cats and their blue eyes but maybe if you can do it, just adopt somebody! Every cat that gets out of jail means another spot for another needy soul. Anyway, take care.

I thought you weren't going to work after you got the benefits. Why are you still trying to get a job? if you do still need a job, I would try to get something that is not as physically taxing or stressful as what you are doing now. That is not good for your body. Why can't you get some kind of clerical job?

It's so tough to go through so much at the same time. It's overwhelming and it makes you feel hopeless. I'm going through a lot myself so the best advice I can give you because I am taking it myself is to stay strong and patient.

I had a stressful week too. But I am now trying to slow it down to worrying one thing at one time. My work cannot be completed and never will be.

Sorry to hear. It looks like you had a really tough week. And extremely sorry that you are going all of these at once. I can understand the challenge and frustration to see everything piling up – work, missing out on Nelly and all on. You deserve you be valued and encouraged both in personal and work space. There are also some bright spots like the Chuck Interview. Even if things are not right on the job, it can be considered progress. I believe with you putting more efforts and not giving up, things will change for better. So, hang in there champ! Have a relaxing weekend as well!
