Is battery performance of premium smartphones a big reason for the higher price?

I have often seen that the battery capacity and performance is often shown as a key feature and a big reason for the higher price for the premium smartphones. Luxury smartphones often show fast charging and battery efficiency as one of upgrade features.
I have also noticed some mid-range and budget smartphones also offer large capacity battery and claims of decent longevity. I agree that flagship phones have more power-hungry processors and better refresh rate displays. Also, we assume the premium smartphones to use better or advanced battery materials. After a careful check, I feel they are all incremental and nothing groundbreaking. I feel rather than the battery factor, we are actually paying more on the other features and brand name when it comes to premium smartphones. For consumers looking for battery life, then they are many mid-range options which offer better value and less of hefty price tag. So, do you feel that battery performance of premium smartphones a big reason for the higher price?

depending on what material is used, generally the price also has an effect. A large battery certainly requires heat-resistant materials and also those that are not easily leaked. Moreover, in the future, smartphone processors will be used for laptops and computers, and the batteries will be strong for years and that will make the battery more expensive.

The materials used for battery could be a factor. But then I do see most of the mdi range phones also use same type of batteries as the high range. Do not see any major difference or manufacturing brilliance. In future , perhaps the batteries could be different . Perhaps even solar powered!

@RevivedWarrior What makes it different is the battery size, because the new capacity is larger than several years ago.

You are one of the very few people that I am aware who are genuinely happy with feature phones than with smartphones.

When I bought my last smart phone, I didn't care about brands so chose a Lenovo made Moto G(7) Power. It has the largest battery made for a phone and will last 3 days with me using it for reading on the Kindle app, texting and making a few calls a day. (I read a LOT!) I paid $200 for it. I'm still using it 5 years later.
I used to buy Samsung phones and changed them out every two and a half years and gave my old phone to Pretty to use to earn money with. Samsung phones are a lot more expensive but I still only used it for texting, a few phone calls and reading on the Kindle app but had to charge the Samsung phone every day or twice a day. (I know iPhones have to be charged that often or more often.) That higher price just wasn't worth it to me.

@DaddyEvil I didn't do anything to it! My husband couldn't do anything with it so we ended up going to to the dealer and they were also perplexed. So I lost all my $$ on that baby!

I think that is one of the biggest factors that people are buying it, imagine you have the most unique and ever great invented features of a gadget but you can only use it for an hour or less than 5 hours, I think it will really frustrate anyone and everyone who is using it. Hehehehe...
Second is the camera quality and how stabilize the video of the cam while using it.

You are right! When we buy a luxury smartphone , we definitely need one with a good quality battery. It cannot have a moderate life. But then pricing of battery is sometimes high when it is same material and cpacity for some mid range smartphones.
