Where did the weekend go??

Hello mylotters 
. It's 10:16 PM here and I am smuggled up in my cozy bed, mylotting for a while before I sleep. It's a fresh start of the week tomorrow and I am looking forward to a busy week at work with few parents meeting and workshops lined up.
Well, the weekend passed quickly. And it didn't go as I planned for it. But it was just a good weekend and I feel rejuvenated for a new week.
I planned to keep it slow and relaxed. But then few things happened and it became a weekend of social events and get together. Good that I took the appointment for my pedicure, haircut and massage on Friday just after the work in the afternoon. I had planned it for Saturday, but glad that I finished it on Friday. I enjoyed the few hours of grooming and pampering 
We got invited for a function on Saturday afternoon for my niece's baby boy's naming ceremony. He turned 13 days on the occasion. We enjoyed the good food, a good get together with friends and family. And following that one of my husband's cousin, his wife and their two boys came with us for a night stay in our home. They livee on other end of the city and since they were on this side of the city, we took the chance to have this get together. A good dinner was set with whatever was there in home. And it turned out really well. We had good food, laughter and late night chit chat. They left early in the morning to beat the traffic. And we went back in bed to catch up the sleep 
.
It was late start. Enough was left from last night's dinner for us to have a brunch and an early dinner. So, I skipped cooking today.
I could be a couch potato today, watching TV and bit of mylotting..I just did the bare minimum of washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen shelf.
And, now the weekend ends.

Yes, it was indeed a good one. Everything was spontaneous and not planned. Though I was tired too with all fun and chatting, I felt rejuvenated.

There was some problem with myLot getting slow after I posted this discussion. So, I shut down everything and slept. The week has started well. I am back from school. It's Monday afternoon here.

Yes, it was indeed a full weekend. I enjoyed every bit of it. Though Saturday got a bit tiring with all travel and fun, I relaxed like a couch potato on Sunday making up for it.

Better to do that. You don't want to exhaust yourself, especially when you are having pain and trouble after your physiotherapy sessions. Hope that it's getting better. Listening to our body, especially after an age is of utmost importance. Chores can wait

After I posted this discussion, myLot started acting up and it got very slow. I shut down everything and slept. I slept for almost seven hours at a stretch.

@arunima25 Sometimes I have had to copy a response/comment when myLot wouldn't allow me to post them. It gets really annoying when they just disappear and I can't bring them back.
I can't even remember the last discussion I lost on myLot. I wonder why that is?

The distance in this city is amplified by the horrible traffic. So, whenever we get such chances, we try to make the best use of it. It was fun to have two young boys below 10 years in the house. I miss that age group. The house was alive with all their energy

It was nothing special made. It was unplanned and sudden. So, we made whatever was available in home. Simple roti, tadka dal, aloo dum and mushroom fry. I had gajar halwa in the fridge for dessert. We had a good outside meal in the afternoon party. So, everyone wanted simple roti, dal of home

Yes, at one place. We have this Beauty salon in our apartment complex. They provide very quality service. I was attended by two different people, but under the same roof
Weekend was fun, not as I planned. But I chose to go with flow and enjoy it.
Monday has started well. It was a good day at work. Wishing you too a good week ahead

It looks you had a full and eventful weekend! Although it may not have gone as per plan, it still seems things worked pretty well in terms of family time and good food. Bit of pampering beforehand – its smart move and getting self-care. Your Sunday sounds the best way to wind down before a busy week ahead. I have not been lucky in that aspect. I carried work over the weekend and could not complete it neither got relaxation before a very busy weekend. Sometimes doing bare minimum and taking slow is the best way forward. Hope your week goes smoothly with the things lined up. Enjoy the time!

I can understand..these corporate kind of jobs can be over demanding at times and the work spills over weekend. Have seen that happening with my husband so many times.
I have a part time job, so I get enough time to finish things on weekdays and keep weekend lazy with bare minimum to do. Weekend is the time for family, fun and complete rest.
