George tried "running away from home again" today.

Today has been full of ups and downs. We had that rough night last night, but after a nap George felt a lot better. He took a walk down the other end of the street, stopping at Kris' drivway our neighbor directly to the right. Once again he stopped several times, due to traffic.
That was the positive. When we got inside, he put up one hell of a fight to clean under the bumper of the peg tube. I naturally won, and once it was over he wanted me to kiss him .

@RasmaSandra I've been trying. He's never been one to share his feelings, and now it's compounded by the speach difficulities that the stroke caused.

@kaylachan I don't suppose you could sit down and attempt to talk to him and see what is bothering him, could you? I mean I know how volatile such a situation can be and I know you don't want to upset him more but perhaps he is willing to talk,

That sounds like rollercoaster of a day. Seems there were some bright spots but then some tough moments as well. Good to read George felt better after the nap and went for a walk, although it took some effort. But then small victories do mean a lot. The struggle with cleaning is understandable and definitely it is frustrating. We struggle with regular household cleaning and other cleaning times. It was a sweet that he wanted a kiss. That says a lot about the bond you both have. Hoping for more ups than down for you both moving forward. Well have a great day ahead!

Yeah. I do my best with the house work and general cleaning. But, I need to clean around his stoma everyday, and make sure its dry. He often doesn't allow me to do this as I should sometimes. and I barely get it clean most of the time. I know he'd feel better if he let me do it right, but I know it can be hard because its tender.
