I have been enjoying searching for signs of Spring here. I am happy to show you another one that I discovered. Last year I picked up a couple of plants/flowers from the clearance rack at Walmart. Some of them are shown in the photo above resurfacing through the soil. These are hyacinths and I had gotten a couple of different colors of them. So far, it looks like two of these are pink! I was thinking that I had a purple in the bunch, so crossing fingers on that one! I have never grown hyacinths before, but will try to get these in the ground this Spring/Summer. I think I found a winner there on the clearance rack. They were marked down to $2 a pot if I remember correctly. I am so happy they survived the harsh winter here! Do you have any hyacinths in your garden? And tips for me? Photo Credit: My Own

Well Winter needs to go away and stay away. I have two more nights with lows in the 20's coming up now.

@wolfgirl569 Well they got plenty of that with the teens and 20's a couple of weeks ago. I will have to cram stuff in the little greenhouse next week.

@kareng The bulb needs so much cold before it will grow.

Pretty! They look smaller possibly? Mine get about 6-8 inches tall.

With all this rain, don't know when we will be able to plow the garden up. Got to be patient!

@RebeccasFarm I just need to plant seed in pots right now and put in the portable greenhouse that I have. Hub will do the plowing when it dries up for the garden, Then I will plant the seed there that need to go direct into the ground vs. being transplanted.

I used to have some of those in the flower bed at our home in the country, they were there when we moved in.

@Juliaacv I will have to go out and smell them after this rain stops. They are under the tractor shed so blooms will be safe from the rain!

They are one of my favorite flowers. I have planted so, so many over the years...and guess what? Squirrels LOVE to dig them up and eat the bulbs! Makes me so mad...they will even cut the bulb from the stem and leave the flower and stem in the dirt, and run off with the bulb. They do that with the daffodils, but not as much. It's like they wait for me to plant them. Ugh.

No tips from me since I don't have a green thumb. Do you grow fruits and vegetables as well?

Yes! We need to take a soil sample in to be tested. So far, we have been trying to see what grows best here. Haven't had a good crop of tomatoes yet! Just a few each year.
