Do we feel more tired because of our mind or because of our body?

When I was a kid, I used to get tired only after my physical activities. As I grew up, a bit of mental exhaustion did come into play but then it was a combination of physical nad mental exhaustion as well. These days, however I feel I am getting drained after a long day of work -pure mental exhaustion.
The brain is non-stop working on things, sometimes multitasking, problem solving, decision making. I cannot relax my brain. I have seen people in factories. Physical exhaustion is definitely real but then body do have mechanism to recover id proper rest and nutrition is provided. But then mental fatigue, I have no clue whether nutrition or rest can help. Perhaps it can linger for days. Add to this you have stress on all things and then people reaching out to you with their problems and for some we need to spend time. All these activities do need some amount of concentration. I now wonder if people are getting more tired from physical exhaustions or from mental exhaustions. What do you think?

Both. Mind and body go together, right?

They do. But when it comes to work, either one of them is mostly used and rarely both. Physical exhaustion with proper nutrition and sleep should be good enought to rejunevate. And for mental exhaustion- it requires more than food and rest.

Either one or both together... We can be exhausted from thinking hard about solutions to problems without moving from a desk or, we can play vigorous sports and be physically exhausted... Both types of exhaustion feels draining on the body and make us tired and want sleep.
I think mental exhaustion requires more than sleep and food to rejuvenate us fully...

Well, physical exhaustion can be resolved with rest and food. Mental exhaustion more than these two.

Depends on the person and the lifestyle. Many people struggle to find that balance. sleep helps the physical body, but stressers don't help the mind. Having an outlet helps with that.

An outlet is a good idea. And that could depend on the person and the type of mental exhaustion.
