We have eggs!

Dale went to Walmart today (first outing since getting the flu last Friday) and came home with two dozen eggs!
Walmart had been out for a while, so it was wonderful to buy some more. They were expensive, though...$11 for an 18 pack.
Now I can bake stuff that requires eggs in the recipe.
I think I'll hold off on making deviled eggs for a while, though, in case eggs get scarce again.
Is there an egg shortage where you live?

Last time I looked they had them. I don't think I would pay 11.00 for them though. Actually one store outside of the city had loose eggs or pack your own for 4.99 per dozen, at least they did on Monday I should have headed over there, when I was there Monday, but I wanted to get home

@snowy22315 I wouldn't mind packing my own as long as I didn't have to get them out from under a chicken!

No, my chickens are laying very well right now
I know that's not what you meant or wanted to hear! We seem to have ample supply in stores, but price is crazy. It killed me paying $5-$6 a dozen during the holidays for eggs when the chickens were not laying.

@1creekgirl Yep, and more so with the darn roosters. Still worth it. Incubating some eggs this Spring and Summer, the the rooster cull is coming.

You are blessed to have your own chickens, but I know they're a lot of work.

Pretty checked the price of eggs at the Walmart here yesterday or the day before... They wanted $8 for an 18 pack... We aren't paying that. We still have one 18 pack in the fridge. That will do until prices go down again.

Our precious, expensive eggs . . . we can still get them, but if you get to the store too late in the day, often they are gone. Do you have a Trader Joe's near you? I find that they are still the cheapest . . . 3.49 for a dozen large white . . . everywhere else they are at least 7.99 and well above that.

We have eggs at the local stores but not as many. There are some empty spaces. I'm grateful that they have what they have.

That is highway robbery.
Our egg prices have risen, but the news says that we will not experience the shortage, and price hike that you are in your country. I usually can get an 18 pack for anywhere from $4.99 to $6, which isn't bad, although we go through alot of eggs.

There is a small egg shortage in my market due to the news reports of chickens getting sick with an illness.

Not in my refrigerator, but I do make things that stretch them. Yes, they are pricey.
