So, the old doctor won't send my chart to a new doctor

No, i can't reach him through mail, he doesn't have it. Phone, not answering. I can only leave a message on a phone machine and i did that but no, after 2 weeks, my chart didn't reach the destination. From now on, i'll do that every day. I complained about this doctor to health authorities 2 months ago and i feel he is doing this on purpose. I feel angry and weak at the same time. No wonder i wanted to transfer to a new doctor but health institutions didn't let me transfering in the beginning cause it hasn't been a year so i had to find a second residence and got it then. I remember how upset i was. Still am cause this is still neverending. I wish he sends the chart, what a nutcase but until now, i'll leave messages every day on his phone machine. And he is a young doctor, almost my age. I always say they are the worst. Older doctors are so much better, some of them, of course. Ah...

@grenery8 I understand. It's amazing the trouble one doctor can cause when they want to be obstinate.

I am thinking if a complain can be made to the ministry of health and if they could force the doctor to send these information over in a speedy matter? In my country, we are lucky that as long as we made a visit to the government hospitals, the records will be put online and all public hospitals can access to it. Reducing the needs for the information to be transfer and potentially lost in the process.

I am sorry that your documents did not arrive. Here the doctor hires a third party to manage the patient records and the patient can purchase them and get them on a data stick to take to the new doctor. My doctor is closing and he has enlisted such a company, I have opted not to purchase my records because I have only been with him for less than 2 years and the price is too high for the few appointments that I have had. Another doctor can figure things out as he goes and has lab work completed.

you're right, i always supported that policy new doctor, new tests but some of my tests were me going to several specialists and it's all in chart that she got today and some of it but i have papers so i also took a photo of them and sent it all to my doctor. it's horrible how they're charging that at your place, awful.

That would be so annoying with so much follow ups and reminders. Sorry that you have to go through this. Hope that he does the file transfer soon.

That is definitely unfair and very frustrating You have done possibly everything that can be done – calling, texting and even going through a series of challenges and process of getting a second residence. It totally understandable to feel anger and exhausted by the situation. In case you suspect he is intentionally delaying things, escalate the issues with the authorities and explain the ongoing problem. Document every attempt, so that proper action can be taken. Perhaps if authorities intervene, he might send the chart. You definitely deserve proper care without all these drama and stress. Take care!
