Tomorrow is International Flag Day.
We are expecting another snow storm, and as usual winds come with such storms. It should make for a good day for the flags to fly high and proud.
Our Canadian flag has a red border on either side with a white background and a red maple leaf in the center. I will wear our flag's colours tomorrow too, red and white.
Will you fly your flag tomorrow too?

@wolfgirl569 Even the little paper ones that they hand out at parades and Canada Day festivals are getting smaller due to expense.

@Juliaacv I have, I don't currently have a flag To be honest I am not very happy with the way things are going in this country. If I could afford it, I'd move to the UK

@snowy22315 I would be your neighbour, I would leave this continent too should things go bad. I worry about it and hope that it never comes to that.

@Juliaacv — I watch enough hockey to know the Canadian national anthem. ![](/Content/images/emotes/wink.gif)

We bought a Canadian flag when we had some Canadian performers coming to the Music Shack. We regularly flew our flag on our Donnybrook property. I think your flag (and ours) are two of the nicest ones. Some are very 'plain' with their three coloured stripes.

Yes, your flag is quite a nice looking one.
I always feel a bit sad when immigrants fly the flag from their country in Canada.
Many more have a small set of boxing gloves with their country's flag on them hanging from their rear view mirrors in their cars. It doesn't exactly shout harmony, and so many of them have those.

@JudyEv I can agree, when you move to a country embrace the culture of that country and enjoy it.
I looked in my rearview mirror this morning at a stop light and noticed the car behind me moving closer and closer and I thought that behaviour aggressive, and then I noticed boxing gloves on the mirror of that vehicle. hmmmm.....

@Juliaacv I'm not sure what message they are trying to give with boxing gloves and their own flags.
I haven't seen that here but we are getting more and more unrest between, say, Israelis and Palestinians. It's a pity we can't just all be 'Australians'.

We have a flag and no pole too.
We used to have a nice flagpole and flag.
My husband did some training for a company that did welding, and as a result besides payment, the owner was so impressed that he offered to make him a custom flag pole and come out and install it. It was a really kind gesture.
Snow....we will get much much more snow than we want.
It should start around 3am and I don't know when it will quit.
Some places are running out of places to shovel it to as it is piled very high.
Our city isn't that bad, yet.

Another time you can fly it.
There is alot going on right now which is why everyone is proudly displaying their flags lately.
I hope that the warmth of the red colour of the maple leaf warms people's hearts and makes them realize that we should treat everyone, regardless of their country, with respect.

I do not think that I will be putting up any flags tomorrow. Tomorrow is a sobre day as it was the day we fell to the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II more than 80 years ago. We will be having a total defence day to remind ourselves of the pain we have during the formation of our nation.

Here, most residential apartments and houses do not have a flag. Only schools, government organizations have one.
