Got Them

I bought 14 dozen eggs for 3.50 each. That's a great deal compared to store prices and I know many of the Amish around us are getting at least 3 a dozen. This way I am done for the month and have enough to make dumplings one day next week even. I also got 10 candles for 50 cents each. That's a great deal on candles.
It was nice to get home to the warm house. It wasn't bad in the auction barn but it wasn't warm either. We both ordered pizza when we got home. I am still wearing one of my hoodies as I am still a little chilled from being out all day.
Hubby came across a story about a neighbor being charged for animal cruelty. They took 11 horses and 2 goats from him. Plus there was 7 dead horses and another that had to be put down. This wasn't his first time in trouble for that. I know he had just bought a horse a few months ago at the auction. Hope they don't allow him animals anymore. This is the guy who let his grandkids growl at Patch border collie.
Hope you had a good day.

They will last all month and I think I will make some dumplings next week. That will be good on those cold days.

That is about the going rate for eggs on sale here.
I prefer to get the 18 packs as they last a little longer, I need to pick some up tomorrow.
Shame shame on that neighbour.
I cannot understand how someone can take in animals and then neglect them or harm them in any way.

They are 6 a dozen here in the stores. Sometimes higher.
I don't either. The story said he had no hay

That's a great deal...I got a dozen at walmart for $4 something a few weeks ago, but last time I went they were up quite a bit.

The story said he had no hay. And all water was frozen solid. He should have gave them away

That's quite a lot and you need space in the fridge for that huge quantity

At some point they will either jail him or ban him from having animals or both.

He was banned for a few years. And did seem to be doing good feeding them this summer. I seen him buying hay at the livestock auction. But the last 2 months he hadnt.

That IS a GOOD deal for eggs, I wish we could find that kind of
deal around here, Animal cruelty is 1 thing that needs to be dealt
with like put in PRISON for YRS.

How are you going to use 14 dozen eggs up before they go bad?
