Today afternoon my mother suddenly called me. I went to her without knowing a great surprise was waiting for me there. My mother saw me; smiled and handed over me a thick bundle of currency notes. I was amazed.Where did my mother find so much money from. Before I could ask my mother; she said; " Don't be surprised. It's your money." I was confused. My mother revealed the secret. She told me she would "steal" a small amount from my pocket when I was not in my room or had fallen asleep. All this "theft" had been going on since more than a year when I had started my business. My mother said to me; "_If I had not taken the money from your pocket; you would have spent it by now." Today I learned a valuable lesson. Now on I will save a small amount from what I earn; and then buy what is,necessary with the rest of your earning.

Your mother is so sweet. I hope you buy her a gift out of gratitude for teaching you a valuable lesson and also because it's never a waste to buy your mother a gift.

That's a very good idea. I'll buy my mother a costly gift. A sari. She likes to wear sari. It will be a costly sari. Thanks for this great suggestion.

@Shivram59 That's a decent amount. The mothers and housewives in our country are very much financially disciplined and good with saving. Running a household on a budget needs so much of planning and execution.

Ah that is very interesting. When I got married, my parent gave me $10,000 to my surprise. It turned out that they did not spend every sum that I give them every month so they give me a huge gift of blessing during my wedding.

Yesterday I gifted her a precious sari. But she grew angry. She said she had many saris and there was no necessity to spend so much money. The price of the sari was Rs 15000.

Of course; she knows what it means to be poor. When my father's business failed; she had helped my father with her savings. She wants me to realize the value of money. Thank you.

That’s a heartwarming yet amazing lesson on financial saving! Your mother “theft” was a loving gesture, ensuring you had a safety net before you even realized it. It is important lesson about the importance of saving. It’s definitely touching how she turned the things into surprise for you. It is easy to spend money when the flow is there, but the habit of saving and setting aside can make a huge difference especially in long term. Well, your mother gave you and perhaps us - one of the best financial lessons and without any lectures. Enjoy the weekend!

Thanks; my friend. My mother says I should realize the eternal truth that time changes. She says a time might come when your business collapses. For those rainy days I must develop the habit of saving. Good times follow bad times and vise versa. Now it is good time. You don't and can't know when it will turn bad. She advises me to save money without being a miser. Thanks for responding; my friend.
