I am off to buy some eggs. How did you start today?

I haven't bought eggs in awhile. I switched over to bagels and lox, or slices of ham, recently. I wonder how much Trump has lowered the price of eggs. I had literally been paying $6.00/dozen for eggs. I am not a Trump supporter, but I will obviously take advantage if his policies help me. My other big task for this morning is to put my PG and E (power company) bill in the mail. I did the hard part yesterday.. How did you start your day today?

I had a sausage, egg and cheese croissant for breakfast after I took my morning pills. Eggs here are $8 for 18 eggs. We aren't buying any right now. I still have one carton in the fridge.

@DaddyEvil That's good price, by my standards. How much has the price of eggs declined since Trump took office?

Have they dropped in a price a bit, as Trump said they would?

How did I start my day? I woke up. Lay in bed, read online, posted a song, watched weather vlogs, got up, fed the strays, and came across the river to Chuy’s (I have to come to the “other” one occasionally). Now I’m drinking hot tea, watching it drizzle, and getting ready to go home and go back to bed because it’s cold and drizzling.

The last eggs I bought were $4.79 for 18 if I remember correctly. I have about thirty eggs in my fridge in total. I had my last piece of this week's egg casserole. I scramble them up with some meat and cheese and veggies of various sorts. We can get nine servings from a casserole that was made with six eggs. I will eat a sausage patty or a slice of ham with my serving, and toast.

The the egg increase is due to bird flu and sky rocketed in Biden's term. How is that Trumps fault? Maybe they need to look at Fauci about that since he was involved with the lab that invented Covid?

LOL! Good one. Here, they have jumped from $6/dozen to $9/dozen since Trump took office. If grocery prices are down substantially there, let me know. California is a wacky state to live in. I admit it.

In my location, our eggs needs to be giant for us to pay $4.50 for a dozen. I am buying half a dozen of huge eggs at around $3.50. Local farm eggs but we also import from Malaysia and indonesia.

They’ve been slaughtering a lot of chickens due to the bird flu and that’s probably why eggs have gone up in price by a lot. The last few times we bought eggs they have been in the $4 range. But prices are through the roof in many places.

From what I have read, it is very probable that the price of eggs will not go down for some time. If you like them, pretend you're buying meat (they are protein, after all!) and get some. Enjoy them. You can think of it this way--if you were buying meat, rarely can you get much for a dollar or two. A serving is 2 eggs, 13-15 gr. protein. That's not bad at all. Yes, if you paid out the nose for them, they might be even $1 per egg. But if you consider them a protein source, you can sort of justify them. People will say, yes, she doesn't have to buy her eggs. True, I don't--I barter with a friend and get fresh ones from her. No money is exchanged, but they aren't free. We do barter. I bake her things, she brings me eggs. It's just what we do, we've done this for about 5 years now. I did read this today in a news blurb: : ''The outlook for price relief seems to be bleak. The U.S. Department of Agriculture projected egg prices will increase by 20% in 2025. Industry experts believe even after the avian flu outbreak is brought under control, rebuilding affected flocks will take considerable time before supply can meet demand. @TheHorse I completely understand. I cannot pay any more for things I have to have, either, it's very concerning. I will say it's made me more frugal--and that's not hardly possible to do. Food costs climb higher every day.

Life is pretty tough when eggs are that expensive, but bagels with "deli meats" sound good too! Have egg white cartons increased in price as well, I wonder?

Eggs that I bought here is 120 pesos a dozen which is equivalent to 2usd, more or less. But in groceries it may only cost less. I bought them in a little retail store near me. I started the day doing chores such as cooking and a little sweeping in the house as I will have weekly cleaning tomorrow such as mopping and other detailed cleaning.

Will people stop blaming egg prices on Trump, for Heaven's sake. The inflation happened under Biden, and so did the bird flu mostly. Trump has NOTHING to do with the price of eggs. If people wanted to complain about prices, they should have lodged that complaint when prices actually went up. Three years ago!

Has Trump brought the price of groceries down where you live, as he said he would? They're up here, but this is California. Do you have a theory as to why Biden was able to keep inflation down, post-Trump, relative to other first-world countries? I actually don't know. I have forgotten much of what I learned in your Economics class at Trump U. What was our mascot, anyway? I can't even remember that!
