A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post on how I picked up a bag of Zapp's Regular flavored potato chips by mistake- both are in an orange stripe bag now. The Regular used to be a red striped bag and I thought the ones I got were the Jalapeno flavor chips until I picked them up at home to open them a couple days later. Zapp's is not found in every grocery store here in Mississippi like they were in Louisiana where they originated, so when I saw those, I snagged them.
I was in Aldi's about 2 weeks ago and say Zapp's VooDoo flavored potato chips and picked up a bag. I had that flavor before, but many years ago. I wanted to check out the flavor again! VooDoo incidentally was the first flavor of Zapp's introduced to the market back in 1985.
I wasn't disappointed and the VooDoo flavor delivered a bold and spicy punch of a taste. Per the packaging, the flavors that make up the VooDoo flavor are garlic powder, Turmeric extract, Paprika, Spice (undisclosed), and a natural smoke flavor. I will be picking up another bag of VooDoo soon! They were delicious!
If you enjoy kettle style potato chips. which are cooked in peanut oil vs. vegetable oil, I encourage you to try one of Zapp's many flavors of potato chips. They also have the following flavors: Spicy Cajun Crawtators, Cajun Dill Gator, Salt and Vinegar, Regular, Sweet Creole Onion, Hotter Than Hot Jalapeno, and Evil Eye.
Zapp's was sold to Utz, Chips in 2011 after the founder passed away. The chips are no longer produced in the original factory in Gramercy, Louisiana.

@kareng I avoid Amazon unless I absolutely have to buy something because it is out of stock at other stores. I will check it out!

@FourWalls They do have good salsa there! We go to the one in Lafayette, La every now and then. Last time it wasn't as good as usual

@kareng — that’s one of the reasons I eat at Chuy’s so much: their salsa is the best sinus medicine I’ve ever had.

I like potato chips but the ones we have are local products. We have Lays and others though a bit pricey.

@jobelbojel Good luck! And yes, that is odd! I guess they don't want to take the time to change it?

@kareng Hmmm. I am planning a trip at the Duty Free store nearby. It's been a while since I last visited the store. And the only Duty Free store left in my province. Most of the items they sell are from the states. Will check if they have Zapp.
It is weird that the store use $$$ on its tag but we pay Peso.
