rain delays and long days.

The race took longer, and is still ongoing. We had a rain delay that set us back about three hours. So, in an effort to beat the rain they failed. On the home front, George has been a bit more difficult. Fighting me off when I tried to flush his tube, claiming I was hurting him. Now that I've done it, he's acting like the conversation never happened. I am at my wits end. Nurses and doctors do the same things I do, and he doesn't use pain as an excuse. When I do it, he'll do or say anthing to be left alone. I feel like a failure as a human being and wife.

Men can be so dramatic at times when they have to be taken care of I don't know what I'm going to do when & IF mine gets where I have to take care of him, I'd like to say the V A will help BUT I'm not too sure.

They will to a point, but it depends on disability level and other factors. Like the VA pays for medical and vision, but they don't cover dental because of how George served or something.

@kaylachan Mine gets everything he needs so they say, but there are things they can't do but we will get through what ever happens.

Maybe George is not just feeling and maybe the delays in the race made him a bit difficult

This is a daily thing. If it's not flushing the tube, then 'ts going to bed, or literally anything.

@kaylachan that is true and might bring infections as well, right?

Men are dramatic and think they are dying with just moderate illness. It's a man thing, so don't let it make you feel like a failure. Just smile and go with it. I wonder if the rain delay and the long wait dampered his enthusiasm for the race and was disappointed because of that? I know he was looking forward to it.

It must be paining him when the doctors and or nurses attend on him but he is decent not to show his pain to them. I think George is on the right track.

@lilacskies I'm trying. I like to think I've done pretty good so far over the past year and two months.

He feels more at ease complaining to you than to strangers, that's the downside of sharing such a deep bond, you get to experience the whole George and not just the nice one. He trusts you enough to show his vulnerable self but you're doing perfectly fine, although I know how annoying it is at best when people are "too trusting".
