For Potluck

I cooked and shared these dishes yesterday. It was our first lunch with the new priest and the last day of one Columban missionary. I was glad they liked it. Usually, the other church members bring pork and pastries. I thought bringing a healthier meal might provide some balance.

We eat lunch with the parishioners every third Sunday of the month after the Holy Mass. Parishioners voluntarily bring food to share. Yesterday was special. because it was our first lunch with the new priest and last with one of the Columban missionaries.

@Iam_jauntyjen I used to be close to church in the good old days but now I am more spiritual than religious I do not attend Mass going by how materialistic the church has become.

@allknowing I see. God knows what is in our hearts. What church did you use to go to?

A healthy meal would be much better for them.

A healthy home cooked meal is always appreciated. I can see broccoli there in the picture. I like brocolli.

The one on the left is stir-fried broccoli and mushroom with hoisin sauce. On the right are kimchi pancakes. Both are easy to make, healthy, and economical.

@lilacskies Yes, it is a Chinese sauce. It is made of soy sauce, peanut butter, honey, vinegar, garlic powder, and sesame oil. It is very aromatic. It makes the stir-fried dish more savory. You can usually find it alongside other condiments at a supermarket.

@Iam_jauntyjen What is the sauce made of and what does it smell like? I've never heard of this sauce before. Is it Chinese?
