Crabby Monday Morning

United States
February 17, 2025 11:28am CST
I went to bed early last night to catch up on sleep and it actually worked out for once. I managed to sleep for a full eight hours for the first time this month and I thought I would wake up feeling refreshed, but I woke up feeling crabby. I woke up to a voice I didn't want to hear. Whose voice was it? My ex-husband's. He visits at least once a week to visit my parents, but that's just an excuse to get under my skin. I stayed in my bedroom and am still staying in until he leaves. He hasn't come knocking on my door yet, but even if he does, I'm not opening my door. I'm dealing with chronic pain and can't get out of bed properly anyway. I will wait until he leaves and then go on with my day. This has been a bad start to my morning. The biggest mistake I've made in my life was marrying my ex-husband ten years ago.

Wow! I want to have full 8-hour sleep. Maybe not this time because I am on night shift.

@jobelbojel That sounds like a hard job dealing with customers.

It was a rare occasion. Most nights I sleep 3 to 5 hours. Sometimes less. Sometimes barely. What is your profession?

I hope so too. He talks so much. Goodness. He needs to leave so the house is quiet again.

It seems he has a good relationship with your parents.

That is an understatement. They are practically mother, father, and son at this point.

@lilacskies that is relief and i'm glad your parents told him you were sleeping. i get tired after talking to people for 30 minuts but an hour, he sure has time to spare

@lilacskies i know and remember some of those conversations. my uncle and aunt were like this. would come for 3hours and would talk only about themselves, awful. yes, it's not good when even narcissts don't like themselves but that's their problem.

Thank you. He left without a word to me. Didn't even knock my door. He mentioned me though. My parents told him I was still sleeping. He left after talking with my parents an hour ago. What a relief.
