It Won't Charge

Have you ever had a phone to just stop charging. No matter what you do it just won't charge. I have done all I could do. But the worst is I am being billed for the phone. I think I should call and ask them what I should do, because paying for a phone that won't charge and you can't use is out of the question. Has this ever happened to you. Have a nice day.

I see it happen pretty frequently. Sometimes it's just that the charging port has collected enough debris in it that the AC adapter connector won't fully connect. Usually if that's the case we're able to remove the debris in it with a thin pair of tweezers (sewing needles or pins work well, too) and once that's done it charges just fine. Depending on how old it is, you might need to go through the manufacturer's warranty for repair or replacement. Do you happen to have the phone protection through the carrier? That might cover issues, too. If you don't but pay the bill with a credit card, there might be a benefit through the credit card company that covers the phone.

Hi, @DaddyEvil! We've been well. Life's been hectic since the last actual discussion I started here... got myself a promotion to full time, then decided to go back to school (more than) full time on my employer's dime.

Yes, there's a few things you can try. First of all how old is the phone? And what kind of phone is it?

@popciclecold Those are older phones, but they should have decently good batteries. However, Samsung has been under fire before for having faulty batteries that fail unexpectedly. Most older phones are only built to last two years if that. With that being said, there are a few things you should be able to try. If you typically charge it? wirelessly or through the charging port? Have you tried to clean the charging port?

Could you change phone with new sim card. If the new phone cannot be charged, can return to the retailer so long as there are receipts.

It could also be because the battery connector is not connected properly. If it is still under warranty, it is best to take it to a service center.
