Pizza pizza! Do you ever make pizza at home?

I like pizza, especially "everything" pizza, but I rarely buy frozen pizza at the grocery store. No particular reason. It just never became a part of my "routine." Over the past month or so, I have added pizza to "things in my freezer." The cool thing about frozen pizza is you can slice it while it's frozen and "break" it into quarters. Two slices is enough for me. Yesterday I sliced one of my Roma tomatoes and added it to the toppings. It was good. Do you ever buy frozen pizza? Have you ever made pizza from scratch?

Yes, once in a while we make pizza at home. I make the crust and then Pretty will make the rest of the pizza. (She complains that the crust doesn't taste right when she makes it. *shrug*) And yes, we usually buy frozen pizza and yes, I will add more ingredients before putting it in the oven.

@DaddyEvil We used to call it a "garbage pizza." Onions, olives, sausage, ham, etc.

My mama makes pizza out of scratch when she is in the mood to do so. I made it out of scratch in the past as well. We don't buy frozen pizza, but we order takeout on occasion. I tried a slice of vegan pizza the other day.

@TheHorse It was okay. I wouldn't eat an entire vegan pizza, but a slice is okay.

Pizza is cheesy bread. Yes both my hubby and I have made pizza from scratch. He isn't eating as much now so its been a while since we made it. I like pesto based pizza best.

Our IGA makes a nice 'everything' pizza. We often add a few things to them.

What do you add? I have a pice of pizza heating up in the oven. It is after 8 PM here. My bedtime. All I added was cheddar cheese and some Horse tomatoes. I forgot to buy olives.

@TheHorse We might add extra meat-type stuff - pepperoni, etc - mushrooms, tomatoes and maybe anchovies depending on who else is there and going to share it.

Yes, I make pizzas here at home from scratch, at least once a month. I have big round pizza pans, and some small ones people would call personal pan pizza pans. I usually make 2 large ones and some small ones, we cook one of the bigger ones the day we put them together, then the rest get wrapped and frozen. We love the option of having them ready for the oven, and they are way better and cheaper than frozen store bought. I have had a few frozen ones that were pretty good, but the better ones come with a bigger price tag, and I can make as good or better pizza for less money.

@MarieCoyle Wheee! But I can burn water. So I am cautious in my cooking.

I am thinking of buying some things, like more cheese, olives, etc., to put atop my pizzas. I am too lazy to learn how to make pizza crust.

@TheHorse I've even seen little packages of pizza crust mixes at the stores, but have not ever tried them. I've been told they are not too bad. Or, you can get a ready-made pizza crust at any grocery. I have even seen pizza crusts available in the roll/biscuit areas of stores, in a tube. I haven't tried them, either, but they sure look easy, unroll the dough and slap it on the pan? Can't get much easier than that. Yes, cheese, olives, mushrooms, onions...yum.

I have made pizza from scratch but that was what 30 some years ago. I do get frozen pizzas now and then and if you get the right brand, they are pretty good, fairly cheap and oh so easy to make.

I'm the same way. Having a frozen pizza in our house is rare. VERY rare. It wasn't always that way, but it is now. We make pizzas at home all the time and they are always easy and delicious.

Yes, we often buy it frozen. My mother used to make it from scratch but then she found out she's intolerant to gluten so she stopped. Now that I've become one with the kitchen I might try to make it myself.
