Winter and Gloves

This winter has been a hard season. Few of us would disagree. Besides the forecast and the many signs in nature, I should have known with the Christmas gifts that I received. I was given not one, but two pair of leather winter gloves. Both lovely and warm with fur lining. One pair are extra long, the other are just long. I don't like cold wrists. And I am getting good use out of the one pair that I began wearing on Christmas Day. I find it is just too cold to go outside in the wintertime without gloves. You can tell from the picture that I borrowed from online that i do love gloves Do you wear gloves, full or even part time?

I had geared myself for my holiday in the US and Canada years ago It was a full pack ready for winter and only got to wear it one night while we went to watch Niagara Falls in the night in canada. I got myself even thermal wear and ofcourse gloves. It was the month of October and I suppose that is not winter in those countries at that part of the year.

@allknowing The natural beauty of the falls is lovely to take in at any time of the year.

In October it can still be nice enough outside to go without gloves.

I don't wear gloves too often, our winters are usually rather mild, but I do have cold hands. Glad you have two nice pairs.

This has been a really hard winter, having 2 new pairs isn't more than I need because I am wearing the one new pair as well as another older pair.

Gloves are nice, but I prefer mittens I bought some warm black ones recently that match my earmuffs.

I used to wear mitts too, but they are usually made of a knit fabric and I cannot drive with them on.

Luckily I only need leather gloves when working in the yard but sometimes I actually go outside when it dips below 50f on those icy days but they are few thankfully

I don't dislike the cold, because I dress for it. Although I am tired of the extreme cold and all of the snow that we've had this year.

Now that you mention it, I don't own any gloves, scarves, or hats. I just have one black parka and that's it for winter. No winter boots even.

I wear them mostly around the house, especially when going out to feed the animals. and sometimes when i go to town driving. They do help a lot in cold weather.

@Juliaacv Right!! Gloves solves all those problems! Besides, why be cold when you don't have to?

Even though most surfaces in our SUV are heated, I still need the gloves, the air inside of the car takes a bit to warm up, and then there is the walking from the car to the store.

It is a necessity for me, the same as boots for my feet.

I do when it's cold out for doing chores. I also have gloves in each truck in case they are needed.
