Focus on what?
Today I paid $5.19 for a dozen medium eggs. I need the protein.
I also stared at my house insurance bill. That bill amounted to just over $2,300 dollars. And my house taxes will cost just about 3 thousand.
My car insurance is met through another company. I decided to call them and see if they could give me a lower rate on the house insurance since I already was insured by them. Questions: Did I have a fireplace? No. A trampoline? No. And on we went. I was grateful that I could understand the rep.
She at last came up with a bill that saved me and my hubby about $700.00. Woo whee. Got to love that. Not going to love having a guy come out to snoop and take photos but the first company's camera guy didn't appear to be too upset so for that kind of difference I will go for it.
Meantime we have eggs. Tofu still delivers protein at a decent price, though. $3.69 and usually we eat that single block of tofu in two meals. Zero fat going down the drain or into a can. I can live with it and will.

Lately it seems that I always have to decide buy this and omit that or the other way but definitely not both. By the time I get to my monthly grocery order I have made a list and redone it at least 3 times. February being a short month I will have to refrain from buying stuff I would enjoy eating and sticking to what I should buy because my freezer is still full and a lot will not have to be ordered.

@sallypup I don't know about anyone in Florida but I suppose there must be people here who grow things

@RasmaSandra I wonder if Florida's climate is similiar to Arizona's? My daughter is now trying to grow a nectarine tree.

@wolfgirl569 My husband wanted to know if we should even bother having house insurance. It's a huge gamble- you don't think something could happen but what if?

@sallypup My parents had it forever without a claim. They were glad when the kitchen caught fire that they kept it

That's ridiculous. Our insurance bill was around $1,000 and our taxes were around $1,800.

@LindaOhio I agree with you but I can't do anything about the higher house taxes.

I laughed when I read that you were grateful that you could understand the rep. Does the rep have an accent? Lol! I'm so happy for you that you can save money on your insurance bill. Good work!

Soya is supposed to be rich in protein and other nutrients. If you can do away with eggs you have this alternative
