Our first full day in North Carolina

I was to tired to write this out last night so I wrote it today about our day yesterday. We got a text from my stepson in the morning that said graduation was cancelled. We were quite upset not to be able to see him. His mother did some calling around and found that they decided to reschedule the graduation to the following day. Since we had no plans for the day we just puttered around the area. We went to show my little one the ocean at Top Sail beach. At 29°F is wasn’t very fun but it was pretty. We spotted two little free libraries while we were there so I stopped to trade books. There was a giant shark outside a souvenir/candy store we stopped to get a photo in the sharks mouth. We bought some candy inside. We went to a library to look for a geocache. It was a really neat maze puzzle inside that gave me a key to unlock an ammo can outside. After looking for 30 minutes for the ammo can I had to give up and assume it’s been stolen. For dinner my husband wanted to go to Longhorn steakhouse. As a vegetarian that didn’t sound very good but I went. The spinach parmesan dip I wanted they were out of so I wound up having mashed potatoes and fries. They baked a garlic parmesan layer on the potatoes and it was delicious. The fries were good as well and I liked getting free bread. Photo is of a sign in the breakfast room of our hotel.
