More Bills Stress

United States
February 21, 2025 2:06pm CST
I paid my phone bill today and $50 is out the window now. I'm on a tight budget so every penny counts. I hope I get some work this weekend so that I have some money left over by the end of the month to pay my other bills at the beginning of next month. I am stressed out and have been fretting with my lack of work as of yet. I can't wait for my interview for a full-time position in two weeks now. I am so ready to take the interview and see if I land the job. I didn't even think that the interview would go through for me when I applied last month and was about to give up, but I received the good news of an interview date. I just hope this works out. My money is drying up fast.

Good luck, I had to schedule a plumber for Tuesday, God knows how much that will cost. Looking forward to that like a hole in the head. It better not be much.

@lilacskies Well, since I have two toilets the situation isn't really dire. I won't have it done, if it costs too much.

@snowy22315 That's good. I hope it won't cost much so you can get it done regardless.

I know how it is to stress. You really to ask yourself if there is anything you can do about your situation at this time. If not then it's not productive to be stressed. It's hard but you have to mentally have power over it. If there's nothing you do there's just nothing you can do.

You are right. I'm trying not to stress so much because it does nothing positive for my health, but once I start stressing, I just stressed for hours before one of my health problems take over. It's just a constant struggle for me.

Best of luck to you and I hope you get the job. Remember to focus on all the job requires and convince them you can do it,

Thank you. I hope I get the job. I had the same job back in 2020 before I resigned due to my poor health. I hope I pass my interview.

At some time, you should really take a deep dive into your finances. No, I mean a really deep one. I know you keep "track." But what traps people is they only consider the paycheck or find ways to pay obligations. What people are best advised to do is to find ways to pay themselves. It's not easy, especially when finances are tight, or when someone has overextended on obligations, or are otherwise limited financially. But it's that deep dive that lets you see your money in a more clear, positive light, find areas you can cut, or find motivation to increase your income, NOT with the intent of taking on more obligations, but with the intent of actually making some headway and getting ahead of the financial game. As they say, if you want to see the world for what it's worth, sometimes you have to step off the treadmill so when you're walking, you are actually going somewhere.

What is the best advice you can give me for taking a deep dive into my finances? What exactly should I do? Should I start using spreadsheets? Thank you for your help. I would love to do this.

Money comes and goes fast! And at the same time everything goes up in cost. I hope you get the full time job. Are there any others that you are interested in right now? I would put in aps for all and see what happens.

I know. I'm falling behind and my money is drying up fast. I applied to other places between September last year to December, but only heard back from this one for an interview. It's due to my employment gap.
