An Acrylic Painting of a Street Scene That I Finished Yesterday.

I finished this acrylic painting of a street scene yesterday. It took me weeks to finish this.
I first drew out the picture onto canvas. Then I painted all but the sky area with an undercoat of yellow ochre. When that was dry I painted in the sky, using a book about how to do skies and seas in acrylics to help me, but I still didn't think it came out how I wanted it!
I can't remember exactly what week I did what, but I painted in the street and path and the fence on the left with brunt umber. I painted the large building on the left with a baige made by mixing white with brunt umber, but the first time I did it it seemed to go pink, so I went over it again the following week.
I painted the lamppost in the middle on week 2 I think, and the houses in the background the following week. The houses and the trees on the right were done the week after that.
Yesterday I did some finishing touches, details on the building on the left, the windows and details on the shutters, etc. Also the potted plants infront of the building and the "cobbles" on the street, although I know they are not very good, and I need to work on my cobbles! Also I know that the windows and shutters on the building on the left are a bit crooked and not in line, so I need to work on that too!
So that's the finished painting!
Also yesterday I got my critique from the last but one submission for the London Art Course correspondence course. He said my detailed painting was too impressionistic, and my impressionistic painting was too detailed!
You can't win! Other than that, he thought they were good paintings. They just didn't completely fit the brief! My still life and the flower painted with a palette knife he liked.
Anyway, I hope you have all had a good day.
Have a great night too!
Nos da!

Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it! But I think that building on the left is about to keel over!

The picture you put in your post is wonderful. That teacher sounds a bit confused.

@sharonelton ......I think it adds mystery to the piece. But that's just me.

This isn't one of the paintings I sent off, this was just my own thing. This was done on canvas. All my submissions to the art course were on watercolour or acrylic paper. You think this is wonderful though? What about the wonkey windows and suspect cobbles?
The paintings I sent off to the art course have been featured in previous posts.
