Upgrades

I used a flip phone until they made me switch to a smart phone. It has been hard getting used to it. I may never learn all of the features.

It's good business pratice to appeal to a wider more generalized market. So that's why companies are alaways upgrading things.

I absolutely love my smartphone, but no way is it the most updated smartphone around. I feel no need for the latest and the greatest.

Manufacturers have everyone convinced the need the latest bells and whistles.

What is a "feature" phone? Phones here have to be upgraded because the US is now using 5G and, in some places, 6G networks. My 4G phone is still working but anything less than 4G no longer works here.

I am.still using my Samsung Galaxy J7 that I bought in Manila in 2018. As long it does its job, I won't toss it away. My hubby bought S9 but I only use it as a backup. My phones are old but in good condition.

So many choices.

I used my previous phone for six/seven years. Then I had to upgrade to a new one as some applications were not getting loaded. I hold on to them till I am forced to change be it phone, TV, W/M etc.

I switched to a smart phone as I do most of my online work on it, especially bank transactions.

I agree with your though! Most of the technology companies push for upgrades frequently, often for their own profits and benefits rather than for true needs or necessity. Many features like multiple cameras may not be essential for daily users. If your feature phone is able to serve you well, then there is no real need for upgrade. I do not change phones until it becomes hard to go by with current phone. The cost is also a factor. At the end of day , it’s all about practicality and using what works best for you is the best way to go ahead instead of following trends. Take care!
