Pope Francis is in critical condition with pneumonia and asthmatic issues

It was reported several days ago that he was in the hospital but now the Vatican is officially using the words "critical condition" and saying that he is worse today than he was yesterday. They included in the statement that he is conscious and in a recliner rather than a bed but in a significant amount of pain. It doesn't sound good. . .
I'm not religious though I was sort of raised as a Catholic. I even went to a Catholic university and would go to Mass with my friends on Sunday nights. Eventually I lost the whole religion thing for reasons I won't go into. Still I pay attention to world events. It also reminds me of the Dan Brown novel Angels and Demons. Who will be the next Pope?
I hope he pulls through because he has seemed like a genuinely good man.

I also hope that the current Pope makes a full recovery.

I’m praying for him (not Catholic, but that doesn’t matter). I feel for him…when you can’t breathe nothing else matters.

I know the Lord is watching over him and I will put him in my prayers.

I thought he was a good man too. I don't pay much attention either but we were impressed that he caught the bus home after some ceremony to make him pope.

I saw the news clip earlier on this, plus it was online. I do have to give this Pope a lot of credit for being much more active and realistic about key subjects, and he has a wonderful heart.
Often they put people in a recliner when they have a lot of congestion and pneumonia issues, so that's not terribly surprising. I do hope for the best, but unfortunately, it does not look good for him, he has advanced age against him.

My friend Juanita has come down with a mild case of pneumonia, and she said "Just like the Pope." I hadn't heard before that, but then my favorite radio station doesn't have a news cast anymore.
