Sun dried apricots

Sun dried apricots may not taste good for eating but they can be used in several sweet dishes such as puddings and cakes. I got a few of these and notice they have been deseeded. They have retained their original fresh colour and look good as toppings on cakes, puddings and even salads. Apricots do not grow where I live. I love dried apricots which I soak in syrup as they are hard on one's teeth. Image credit: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ab_food_04.jpg

I think it is more common for me to eat the dried apricots rather than the fresh ones. I find they are still tasteful to me

I have several recipes that use dried apricots. The best ones come from Turkey.

@JudyEv We do not have those here but as you know our garden is loaded with other kind of fruits. When Australia grows them wonder why they are still imported

@allknowing Yes, they grow h ere but the dried ones from Turkey are much fatter and not as dry as the Australian ones. My mother would bottle (can) a lot of apricots each year from our home-grown fruit.

When I was a child, I ate apricots every year, because there is an apricot tree in my yard, it is sweet and sour taste, I think it is very delicious

@allknowing Yes, it's funny, like the Indians saying they have a banana tree in their yard, we're in a cold place where it's not suitable for banana trees to grow

My stepmom’s sister-in-law has them growing in her backyard so she sends a lot to her since they have so many. Unfortunately, my stepmom isn’t a fan. I like them okay though.
