The judge was hearing hardship issues before we got sent back here. So far every Hasidic Jewish prospective juror has been excused. I really want to know what their reason is.
The trial is supposed to be 2 weeks but just Tues, Wed, and Thursdays. If that is the case then the students are getting a test on Monday. They can freak out about that all they want.

It could be because Hasidic Jews have a prescribed prayer time. It also could be because Hasidic Jewish men cannot be in a “mixed crowd” with females. In Orthodox synagogues there’s a separate area for the women to sit in, and I’m sure you’ve seen the Orthodox weddings where the groom celebrates with his male friends and the bride celebrates with her female friends, but they do NOT celebrate together.
