Does anyone have any homemade toothache remedies? I get a toothache with the same tooth all of the time. It is from clenching my teeth. I know I need a mouth guard, but they are so expensive to get from the dentist and I chew up the ones that football players use. I just need something to ease the ache once it starts. HELP!

Has Orajel ever helped you? Also, clove oil. I never did it, but my grandma did. It burns for a bit, and then becomes numb. I just looked it up to make sure that was a real thing, and people say it is.

Orajel helps a little bit for a very short amount of time. I've never heard about olive oil. I will look that up and see what the procedure is. Thank you so much!

@trbr22 I wouldn’t know about clove oil either if not for my grandma. I hope it can help!

If you get clove oil in your city, its very good for tooth ache. Dab clove oil in a cotton and apply it tooth the aching tooth.

@trbr22 If you can't get it boil some cloves in mustard oil or edible olive oil cool it and apply it to the painful area of your tooth.

I hope that you can find a way to ease the pain. Maybe drinking something warm might help some.

Thank you, but I'm finding that the temperature of things doesn't seem to bother it,. I feel lucky in that respect. It's just a constant nagging pain, it eases and returns and then eases again. I'll eventually get a mouth guard, but I just can't afford it right now.

I think a dentist can help you

The health experts on youtube say chewing on cloves may help.

Really? I didn't even think of just chewing on cloves. I can't imagine that tasting very good, but then again, when you have a toothache, taste isn't something that really matters. Thank you!

One part apple cider vinegar and two parts water is one option. The vinegar by itself can be problematic due to acidity.
