I'm ANGRY!

I was supposed to send in another stool sample to whomever... The card I had to fill out asked my name, address, birthdate and insurance member number. Those I knew or had on a card in my wallet.
It was a new doctor who ordered the test. His name is John... and if he has a last name, they didn't tell me. The ordering physician was supposed to sign the card. There was no signature. Then the card asked for medical processing address... where do I get that from? Pretty couldn't find that information, either.
I followed the instructions as given on the card and stuck it in the mailbox.
I told Pretty that I wasn't doing this again when the sample wasn't processed.

I would feel angry too, that is very unprofessional on his part, and that unprofessionalism leads the mind to imagine other issues that he has made unprofessional decisions on.
I hope that the sample is processed and perhaps you hear back, although they will not necessarily know who to send the results to will they?

The doctor didn't even give me the test kit. Somebody that didn't even work at my doctor's office gave it to me and told me to fill it out carefully...
He was really young. Pretty even commented on how young the doctor looked.
The only address they have is mine. I had to put that on the card.
Thanks.

I hope that it is proceeded and you get the test reports. Such unprofessional things will annoy anyone and make them angry.

And I don't understand why it has only 24 hours from the time I take the test to reach the testing center? It can take days to go from my house to an address in Arizona, halfway across the US. Especially as slow as our mail moves now.
Thanks.

@arunima25 Yes, there is but the test was labeled for regular mail. I wasn't going to pay extra to make it go through the faster mail.

@DaddyEvil Oh! Is there a special mail to expedite in such situations? We have few services here that deliver within a day.

The mail carrier didn't take the envelope. It's still hanging on our mailbox. The sample will be too old by the time it reaches anyone now, for sure.

@wolfgirl569 I hope the mail carrier notices we have mail to go out today. Pretty finished the paperwork needed by the Social Security agency for my disability and hung it with the test that should have gone out yesterday.
We don't have any way to take them to the Post Office itself right now. Both are in pre-paid envelopes.

I asked for Pretty's help but she couldn't figure out where to get the information they wanted, either. I didn't ask her to even look at the stool, just the paperwork.

@sallypup Honestly, she can be a pain in the tush at times... But most of the time I do appreciate her.

Thank you. The card said the sample wouldn't be processed without the doctor's signature. That's why I doubt it will be processed.

My dad's doctor told him to use that cologuard thing. You get more test results back that are inconclusive than actually helpful.

It wasn't Cologuard. It was to test for blood in my stool. I didn't have to poop in the box this time. I had to swipe a paint brush across the stool and send the "product" back painted on the card.

@DaddyEvil I still think most mail in's are basically the same. I don't have a lot of faith in doctors either and that's bad coming from an EMT that takes people to them lol

It was annoying. It wasn't even someone from the doctors' office that gave me the test. I was told the woman worked for an outside company. Why let someone outside the doctors' offices handle something like that?

This is unprofessional and I only hope with the missing signature they will still process the sample

Tell them “poop on you” if they ask for another one.

@TheHorse What are they checking you for? I only need to send in a poop sample every few years. The last actual poop sample I sent to be tested was two or three years ago and the doctor told me I wouldn't need to send in another sample for five years. (They were doing a poop sample instead of putting the camera up my butt to check for polyps or abnormalities in my intestines.)

My real doctor IS an older lady. I went in to talk with her. I don't know why I had to talk to this young guy.

Normally, between the two of us, we can figure out what is wanted but this time we were both baffled.
Thanks.

@DaddyEvil Love it when people make things that should be easy, way more complicated than it needs to be. lol

Yes, it is... The technician (I'm almost positive she wasn't a nurse.) should have filled in the rest of that information before giving me the card and brushes for the test.

Nope, not a scam... The doctor sent me to talk to her. I would have ignored the paperwork/test if they hadn't.

That does sound very unprofessional that all the information wasn't filled in and signed by the doctor.
I would be angry too especially when it's likely they'll ask you to do it again.

I didn't fill out the parts I didn't know... But now the doctor wants me to have a colonoscopy because they couldn't use the sample I sent in. It reached them too late. I don't want to have a colonoscopy. I had one when I turned 50 and I remember I hurt for several days afterwards.

@Shivram59 A colonoscopy is when a cancer doctor puts a camera in a tube up your butthole to see if you have polyps (little pre-cancerous growths) up there.
I'm a lot older than you. I have doctor visits all the time. And don't like most of the visits.
