I seriously don't care if anyone likes me at work, I'm not there to make friends, just do my job, go home and collect a pay check.
The good Lord puts me where I need to be and gave me the skills to do whatever. I always adapt no matter the task/ job.
I've learned who you need to be professional around and who you can joke around with. Today I was talking to the stock manager and one of the assistant managers came up, in conversation about nothing we bounced off each other, just kidding around, and the store manager walked up, they announced I'm one of them. The manager said what are y'all talking about? I told her we need a specific parking area for our brooms.
All jokes aside, I went to the office with the manager and talked with her about how bad my department is and I really need more than 2 days a week back there, she agreed and is intending to call the owner about getting me replaced up front ( I'm a customer service manager) with a young man that has been trained for my position.
Hopefully we'll know more by Saturday.
I hope so I'm tried of closing the store then coming right back the next morning.
How has your week been going?

You are doing great! And I agree with you. I don't go to work to make friends. I go there to make money to pay my bills.

Hope it works out .some stores are definitely better than others, but sometimes retail is a thankless task

I know. Especially when you find out that the people who was over the department didn't really care, it was all about the paycheck.

I hope it works, half these people do not even know the work environment they created. You care so much about money but care nothing about the people that make you money. This is business 101, and in business 101, thats always bad business.

Oh that sucks for sure closing and opening..done it for years in the salons.
My lazy co workers..if you can call them workers were just that.
I did all the opening and closing duties cleaning washing counting out money and trying not to get robbed. Along with male customers talking trash..that's okay I hit them with the comb a few times.
Such fun

My last job was a lot of men talking sht, but me being me, I always called them out
This one kept saying " is it to big for my body?" In front of a couple other men, I looked him in the eyes and said " whip that thing out and I'll tell you." He laughed and never said that to me again.

I'm sure she will, the owner wanted to move me to another store as assistant manager but my manager said no I need her here, plus I don't want to drive 30 minutes to work daily.

I had some trouble with medical paperwork I sent off. The doctors' part wasn't filled out and I sure didn't know how to fill it out properly. I put as much information as Pretty and I could figure out but I didn't sign the doctor's signature that the paper required. I'm positive nothing will happen and the doctor will request another sample from me. I won't do it again! They should have gotten their part right the first time!
I hope the owner lets you have time to get your department up to your standards. Good luck!

Retail work is challenging for sure, mostly because of the people component, both customers as well as employees
