I got a little bit of a scare yesterday

It seemed like a pretty normal day yesterday. Nothing that earth shattering going on, but I noticed in the mirror my face was a little bit red. That can be a sign for me that my BP is high, and sure enough it was..not just high..but really higher than it has ever been to my knowledge. I immediately took 2 BP pills and a beetroot, plus a glass of water. It was much improved an hour later and even better this AM. However, that gave me a scare. I am going to be monitoring alot more carefully and take beetroot and fish oil along with my BP med. HBP is not to be played with

I know..if it hadn't, I would have had to go to an ER or urgent care. I would have hated that

@AmbiePam I was overdue anyway. Maybe I should switch to a different BP med. I have been on this one forever, probably more than 20 years.

Yes, it was fine this morning, but I just noticed the top number is high again. The bottom is completely normal. I made a doctor's appointment.

Yeah, I hope so. I don't want to back to taking any additional pills. I can control it, but I just think I need to put alot more focus on it. I eat too much in the way of processed food, and that is bad for BP.

Mine was like that a couple times, lately it's been good.
Make sure you check yours everyday.

you are so right HBP isn't anything to mess around with
just like high BS "blood sugar" or anything else that
effects your health, that's why it pays to eat healthy.

@2ndchances24 Never had an issue with blood sugar. Neither has anyone in my family, but we all take meds for HBP.

Don't you have a maintenance dose for your BP?

@snowy22315 I have BP too and do get it checked occasionally. Recently my doctor raised the potency of one of the tablets from 2.5 to 5.

It could well be. Your BP rises as you get older. How's your stomach?

We sometimes make bad food choices. But, hey, nothing serious happened, I am thankful. Hope you don't tae these food combinations again.
