Bring your own booze

March 1, 2025 2:28pm CST
Some restaurants encourage diners to bring their own alcohol. This could be for religious reasons or operational reasons (such as no space for a bar). Have you experienced this? I think it is nice to be able to take your own drink as you can save money. It can detract from a special occasion, but save on costs as you can buy supermarket booze for a fraction of the cost - though a corkage charge may apply. How do you feel about taking your own alcohol?

We have a lot of licensed restaurants where you can take your own drinks.

@danielclark691 I’m fine with that, but corkage is exorbitant at some places.

Yes it is unnecessary to charge too much

I haven't seen this at a restaurant. Not sure I would do it honestly
