Lazy Saturday

After I got home. It felt nice just to be in a warm house. I don't know what my stuff sold for. That was finished when I got to the auction. They did have some very cute baby goats and I was tempted. But I don't want to bottle feed them. That is a lot of work and it's cold to be sitting outside doing that. Maybe next month. Been laughing at Jill doberman. When she is where I can see her she is limping bad. But when she is outside it isn't bad. I am not worried about her as there is no swelling or heat. She has just bruised a pad from what I can see. Hope you had a good day.

You could have kept the baby goat in the house with you and bottle fed him until he was big enough to go outside or it was warm enough for him to live outside... I can't believe you did that to poor George and Fuzzy! They deserve a little brother! Jill Doberman knows what she's doing... She just forgot that you spy on them when they aren't in the house. Shame on you!

@wolfgirl569 Do the dogs try to eat Fuzzy? You train them to leave other pets alone, just like you train them to go outside to use the bathroom.

@DaddyEvil Patch would learn as she would want to herd them. Duke is 12 now and was not happy at all when I brought Billy Ray Joe Bob in after he broke his leg. You probably remember him. I played musical pets during that time. During his growing up years Duke was a city dog. So he thinks all these other critters want to get him. But he does just try to give chickens a bath when he has had a chance to catch those.

Duke doberman would try to eat it and Patch border collie might also. . So no house pets. She is walking on it today

Poor Jill, she may have just forgotten to fake it and her trick didn’t work! It’s so cold here and not as windy as yesterday but still windy which makes it feel colder. I would not want to sit outside bottle feeding baby goats either. Maybe George would do that for you!

@wolfgirl569 It's currently 30 degrees. We've had a few snow showers but it didn't amount to much. It's supposed to reach high 30's so it will either blow away or melt. I am glad she was walking on it. I hate it when animals hurt and we don't know why.

It's sad that the baby goats were brought to sell when they need their mother to get feed. Weather here is fine these days. Summer is approaching here.

Many people here pull them from mommy so they can milk her and just bottle feed the babies

When I worked at the dairy farm in PA...I bottle fed the calves. They are strong and almost pulled the bottle out of my hands. I would love to have a pigmy goat. They are so cute, and we have a big yard.

I have fed calves too. You have to watch them for head butting hard too. The pygmy's are cute

You've been considering getting goats? That's so cool! I'd love to say it's cute but they won't be babies forever, unless you plan to sell them later. Poor Jill, I hope that paw heals soon!

I am thinking about getting one for milk again. Might use the money from the tack I sold for that. Jill is walking on it now

@somewitch You need a boy to so she can get pregnant. An Amish man has the breed I like. I will talk to him first when I am ready to buy

@wolfgirl569 Sounds like a good plan to me, as long as you get a baby girl. Male goats can be gorgeous but they don’t make milk sadly. So her paw must be hurting less, that’s good news. Edit: I forgot goats might have to get pregnant to make milk, how would that work out? I have no farm experience.

Bottle feeding baby goats? Oh my goodness. That sounds so cute! If it's too much work, then it's best you don't get them then. You know best. I hope you have a wonderful day and Jill feels better soon!

Those poor baby goats. Wonder why they are weaned away from their mother.

It is normal here to take them away so the mommy can be milked.
