OH MY.. Have you ever grown anything with HOT PINK stems?

I have these growing in my Dad’s room. Why? Because while I’m going through boxes and bins I’m finding all these little “gifts” and “trinkets” and Nickety Nicknacks that I really don’t need, yet can’t throw away.
This is one of the main blockades stopping me from becoming a true minimalist. People just handing over random stuff to me.
My Daddy gave me this pack of Detroit Red Beet seeds a few years ago and of course you can’t just throw away a pack of seeds. They’re just waiting for their chance. Yet I’m still clearing out the clutter. So I said you know what? You gave me the seeds, so now you’re getting the seeds. PLANTED.
I just poured the whole package into a cup of soil and my goodness, LOOK at the colors of those seedling stems.
They’re in his room getting (semi)-light because this is the house of demons and darkness and we barely get any sunlight here.
Moving soon, friends. Don’t you worry about that. Just wanted to show these pink little beauties off and I’ll be back to answer the responses to my last discussion and dgobucks you got Mail Carrier Day for your b-day and we still need to figure out why.
Have you ever grown anything with strange colored stems? I mean if you grow a pumpkin plant, the stems are not orange, or an eggplant (hehe) doesn’t have purple stems, yet this wild red beet plant is already showing off its bold, bright colors. What’s up?
Have a great Sunday everyone and I’m off to get more white boxes.

@kareng @Danielclark691 Can’t say they glow in the dark, but they do kinda “shimmer and shine” even when it’s dark in my Dad’s room. Very unique seedlings we have here!
Thanks guys

I don’t know what will happen with it either! I’ve honestly never grown anything with pink stems, and I’ve grown A LOT of stuff in my time. We shall see. Thanks @much2say

I have never seen anything like that but if they continue growing you should get some nice beets.

I think you’re right. I believe the beets will be under the soil.
Will need to repot before then, they are growing really fast and running out of room. I sorta half-a$$ed this because I wasn’t expecting much and didn’t wanna throw the seeds away, so I just speed-planted and gave to Dad. Thanks RS

Thanks Judy, my Dad did the cutest thing. He never showed much interest in these little pink guys, even told me they “might like it better in my room.”
He doesn’t show much interest in anything. But yesterday before he left for the store, I noticed he opened his curtains wider where these seedlings are, so they’d get more light. That’s just how he is. He’ll never say it, never admit it, but then leaves one little clue.
That’s what I love about him so much.
Thanks Judy
