To complain or to not complain and if to complain to whom to complain and how to complain

There is this person doing loads of charity. Of course, some of it, I disagree with. Nevertheless, he is doing it, and well, its great because people are happier. He gets monies from people who celebrate their birthdays, or marriage anniversaries. He also gets funds from people who wish to donate on annual death anniversaries of their loved ones. He spends it on feeding poor, feeding little children, feeding deserted / destitute elderly, feeding mentally challenged. He performs the death ceremonies of destitute folks. He also feeds stray dogs. I am for a. Feeding stray dogs, but also spaying or neutering them. He uploaded a video on facebook ...somewhere in February, showing the pack of dogs he fed at the request of one of the donors. I was extremely impressed looking at those dogs wagging their tails around him. I would love to be loved like that (my 10 do it but they are spread out)...this was a pack of almost 50 dogs... 50 STRAY DOGS? Not neutered, not spayed...none had the ears notched to indicate spaying or neutering. My concern now is, it is fine, he is feeding them. He is a good soul. But tomorrow, when he is no more, or his team can no longer feed them, what happens? My 10 are all neutered and spayed. So they are around for another 10 to 15 years and that is it..... But there were many pups in that bunch...and some were clearly sick... I feel packs of dogs are always dangerous. It becomes difficult to feed them. You try to feed one, another comes at you and you may not have enough to feed the second and the third and the fourth ...and they may surround you so getting out of that pack will also be a difficult proposition. He feeds them regularly, apparently, so they are good with him and his colleagues or friends or employees. But for a dog lover like I, who likes to feed strays who are not regularly fed by me, this can be a risky proposition. Effectively, the pack will get hungrier by day. They will fight among themselves. They will bite one another. There maybe infected ones who will spread the infection. Rabies has no cure. So....I am for neutering and spaying the fur babies. In about 10 years or so, their numbers will dwindle. And people will start liking them again. Because it is such a pleasure watching the stray dogs eat. So yeah....preventing proliferation is a must because of their pack tendencies. My municipal corporation has listed two numbers. I called them yesterday. But, the girl who answered said it is a call center, and they can only take the complaint if I can mention the area. The video uploaded by the guy has no indication of the area. I fear such packs attacking people in future, simply because they are too hungry. I think charity needs to be done RESPONSIBLY. Much as I loved so many dogs wiggling their tails and bodies...... I feel to avoid man vs. stray dogs conflict in future ...something needs to be done. What, how....I am a big zero in such things. I can only vent. :(

That is one of the reason I don't like people feeding the stray dogs. Here we have lots of such people they feed dogs and these dogs bark and bite passerby.

I say neuter and spay them...aggressiveness is at least 60 to 70 percent lower after that. You sponsor neutering program...one dog per family neutering does not cost that much. But not feeding is a really serious problem. Then the hungry dogs will coalesce....(neutered or not). They will then start attacking vulnerable folks IN PACKS....like babies or adults going on walks alone... They will start sniffing at the bags....or people....and being scared, people will hit them ...which due to their hunger...or thirst...will result in them biting people....that is the logical sequence of not feeding the strays. Another problem that arises with not feeding strays is...........they fight for food. The one with rabies will be ferocious one...and will start biting other dogs who are not yet infected...effectively one dog may infect....almost 10 at each meal.....India does not have enough vaccine to vaccinate such bulging problem. I am merely being responsible...reducing the possibility of my 10 being infected that way. I feed only neutered lot, and they are not that aggressive. Yes, one of them lost her mother to a car ...so she does chase the cars and bark at the tires....being territorial in nature...she barks at other lambs, rams, and dogs..no biting...she is a coward...LOL.....other than that....my favorite one...the one whose picture I uploaded....doesn't bark at anybody ever. I have known her for the last two years now....never heard her bark....only sound she made was when the watchman who initially looked after her, tried to prevent her following me. That was sad cry.... but he too loves her. It is a different issue that I am the one who feeds her now...I have seen her walk away from potential conflicting situations....that is why she has my heart.

@sjvg1976 I have volunteered to pay for 10 stray dogs neutering and spaying in that lot...and 20 dogs vaccinated (including my 10). Lets see if the offer gets taken up. If it does..........balle balle...my conscience will be relieved.

If there is a way to contact him and ask about his doing funds to have them fixed and vaccinated, that would help so much. The pack would dwindle. I hope he has someone in place to help.

I would happily donate to have 10 neutered/spayed, and 20 including mine vaccinated. I know it is not same thing as feeding...but I feel it is necessary.

Have you tried asking the man to spay and neuter the dogs he feeds for the safety of the people who come after him and the safety of the dogs themselves? I just left a comment on that video asking him to spay and neuter the dogs he's feeding. I don't know if that will do any good but we won't know unless we ask.

I messaged him .. thrice on that video...and once through the messaging feature of Facebook. I also tried to contact him but his phone is engaged, so I left a message on his phone... Do you think I have done enough? Can I relieve my conscience with that...

to gather 50 dogs at a time I think is dangerous especially if they are all strays. Maybe those dogs the he fed came from a shelter or something

Here, in our States, we cut the ear of the dogs...so that notch is clearly identified as an indication of the dog being spayed or neutered. None...NONE of those dogs have those notches. Moreover, there are pups there, if you'd notice in the video. They cannot come from spayed or neutered bunch, can they....so ...yeah...none of them are spayed or neutered, and he is deleting my comments, not responding to my calls and messages. This is the old fashioned man who thinks it is cruel to take away the rights of dogs to proliferate...sigh...we have plenty of folks like Elon Musk ...sigh.

Yes, charity should be done responsibly. I am a dog lover. Once I got down at 5AM on the bus stop closest to my home. I was alone coming back from airport . I would generally walk back home as I will only carry a small luggage when I travel alone. But the moment I stepped out of the bus, a pack of stray dogs came barking aggressively. It was frightening. This one is the last stop and we were six people left. The bus driver and conductor allowed us to stay in bus for a while. I called my husband to pick me in car. Others booked ola. Walking on the road with fifteen scary dogs was dangerous. Recently we keep hearing these stray dogs attack and even few deaths caused by that in the city.

Yeah your view on neutering them is something I firmly agree with. As humans, we are the advanced species, so we should take the onus of not letting another life spend a miserable life on the roads. But yeah I don't know how to go about my idea as well. I am just a common person with minimal powers. The person you mentioned above can spend a part of the funds to neuter the dogs and rest to feed them.

I am so scared that the pack will deter ordinary feeders from going to them. Because the pack would be too hungry and would pounce for food. If you noticed in the video, they were already attacking for food. When I give food to my 10, they wait patiently, as if saying prayers or exhibiting table manners. Only when I have moved out a tad, they start eating rapidly. That...is what I wish to see in all stray dogs, and it is quite endearing behavior...when they are eating....even when you go near and pet them at that time, they stop eating, and wait for your petting need to get over. I love these strays. I think with feeding comes the responsibility of ensuring their future or lack of it. Needless to say, I am deeply concerned, and worried both for these fur babies and humans. Because if stray incidents of killing in packs start, all these dogs will be killed indiscriminately AK47 style. For our indifference....worried.

@Dreamerby Neutering is a must. Please try to organize that. If not, surviving litters will form a pack and attack people and babies when hungry. Dogs usually sniff...especially if they haven't had decent food and some food source is passing by. Their ability to scent food is strong. When they go sniffing people get scared, and start beating them, or running from them. When people run, they presume this is a food source...some wild animal...beating is only last resort...strays are quite amenable usually...at least out here. I did see one that seemed too hungry....he was sitting in front of butcher's shop....I threw a few pieces of chicken feet at it, and prevented some mishap.

All of us make our choices and act according to their limited intelligence. The man you mention definitely is a noble, kind hearted soul but not that intelligent. Well, this is the way of the world. He may find some young fellow to carry on his work. Otherwise, we cannot say what will happen once he leaves this world
