I Love When The Family Gets Together

Happy Monday Everyone! the sun is shining here this morning but the cold has returned. Brrrr
Yesterday we had company. My son, daughter in law and two grandsons came for a visit and dinner. My daughter in law has been suffering with damaged disks and pinched nerves and it's looking like she's going to need surgery. She has her doctor appointment in two weeks and we'll get a definite answer. This will really be untimely since the surgery requires a 6 week recovery and it's her sons wedding coming up in May. If she has to have the surgery there's a good possibility she might miss the wedding and will definitely miss the shower and all the other pre-wedding stuff that goes on. If she can postpone the surgery to after the wedding, she'll be attending but in quite a bit of pain. Either way it seems to be a lose lose situation.
My oldest daughter and son in law also came over to say hi and they stayed for dinner too.
Good thing I made plenty. A big lasagna, a pot of meatballs, garlic bread and salad on the side.
It turned out to be a really nice day and it always makes me happy when the family is together.
I'm tired today and am going to relax.
Right now I'm enjoying my coffee and the dog is snoring next to me.

Yes, it's always nice for family to get together. We'll have a family gathering with my nephew and his wife from Canada this coming weekend.

I guess they'll have to decide whether to postpone or not depending on when the surgery is scheduled for.

Kind of went into the big town and had a few adventures. I enjoyed the Oscars last night.

Somehow the word got out that Mom was cooking, that will bring them home. 
I will keep your daughter-in-law in my thoughts and prayers, hopefully if they can book her in soon enough for the surgery she can be recovered and ready to enjoy her son's wedding come the big day.

I'm really hoping they can schedule the surgery quickly so she can have time to recover before the wedding. Anything with the spine is worrisome

@Marilynda1225 Yes, near the spine is such a concern.
My brother had a herniated disc operated on about 30 years ago, and he was back up and on his feet within the week. I am sure that they have enhanced this surgery since then, but I will still keep her in my prayers.

Oh gosh, that sure makes me miss my mom and grandparents. I remember those great get togethers, and I’m thankful for the memories.
Friday night was dinner with my sister and her family for my birthday the following day. They were here for a Hudson doctor appointment. Then Saturday I had lunch with my dad. Then I topped off my birthday with a pedicure, and my best friend treating me to dinner. I also got a lot of happy birthday wishes from my friends (Mylotters included) and family. It was a good day.

It's always nice to see the kids but can be tiring. I hope they can get her in very fast and then she might feel good for the wedding.

Family getting together is always good. Mine rarely sees us and we live in the same house lol.
I'm sorry she's in so much pain, maybe she'll be lucky and recover slightly faster. Sometimes it happens.
My weekend was full of fire stuff and errands.
