Yeppers, my kids had fun yesterday at the "showcase."

I turned out I had four kids playing yesterday. My 10-year-old electric guitar student was hilarious. He showed up wearing these huge "2 cool 4 you" sun glasses. I "had his back" on a quiet acoustic guitar without a mic, and we "styled" on "Wild Thing." I was worried he'd be shy to sing, and that I would have to help him. But he belted out the lyrics like he was the "mac daddy" of all 10-year-olds. His 8-year-old brother also "styled" on some "hip hop" song I don't really care for (on keyboard). I played the simple bass part, also on keyboard. The song may be called "Lucid Dreams," or something like that. I call those two my red-haired boys. Two other kids did "He's a Pirate" and "Carol of the Bells," respectively. I think I'm going to teach my older red-haired boy Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Pride and Joy." It is a blues romp with a lot of "attitude." How is your week shaping up? Today was supposed to be my day off, but I have practice with Durt Cheap later this morning. Wheee! The world survives into another day.

@TheHorse Yes Durt Cheap. I remember back in the day bands had some very unusual names.

“The world survives into another day, and I’m thinking ‘bout eternity, some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me.” Ha, you thought I wouldn’t catch that! (Or, more likely, you knew I would. ) Glad you had a good time. I’ve had lunch and done my household chores. Time for a nap.

Glad it all worked out well yous should be so proud. Still trying to get used to all the noise outside, It's Bike Week here. Still time to join the crowds if you're into bikes.

Bikes yes. Crowds no. Unless it's at a baseball game.

Some kids just shine on a stage, like they seem to have no nerves at all. I'm glad it all went well.

Thanks. The new band, Hair of the Dawg, performed a few songs the other night. I've been with Durt Cheap on and off for several years. Hair of the Dawg is the one I'm really excited about. There are three good harmony singers in that band. and singing harmonies is one of my favorite things. (heart emoji)
