Sunk Boat

Last time I walked past this boat, it was doing what boats do and floating. This morning the poor thing was half submerged, only prevented from totally sinking by its mooring ropes.
Last night, around nine, while the owner was fixing a door, he heard the sound of running water from the bottom of the boat. He was able to save a few things and his two dogs, but ended up with only the clothes he was wearing.
He was preparing to take the boat to Derby along the Gran Union Canal and only bought the boat some three weeks ago. Very bad luck, for sure. Still, I think the teapot is salvageable!

@Ronrybs We almost bought a boat in Ireland with the idea of travelling on the canals but the kindly owner of the boatyard (not the boat) showed us a boat and pointed out what to look out for and in the end we changed our minds. We were just about to head home and would have had to store it there over the winter. I think it was a lucky escape really.

Did anybody notice you poking holes in the hull of the boat? And were you just wondering how fast it would sink?
At least the guy was able to save himself and his dogs before the boat sank.
