I Was Hired

Good news. I passed my interview and I was hired. I have tears in my eyes as I'm writing this. I haven't stopped tearing up since I came home. I sobbed on the drive back home. I am no longer unemployed. I am no longer just a freelancer. No, I have a full-time job again as a nightclub waitress. I start tomorrow. My shift is from 6pm to 4am like it used to be. I am so nervous and excited! Also, the new nightclub owner who bought the nightclub from the old owner shortly after I left five years ago is super nice. If I knew he was going to be this nice, I wouldn't have fretted about this interview for weeks like this. I wanted to give him a hug when he told me that I was hired and I could start tomorrow. There was an awkward moment after the interview where I offered my hand and he didn't want to shake it though. He kept his hand buried in his pocket despite seeing my outstretched hand. Oh well. I'm just glad I was hired! Here's more good news. My right knee is doing much better. There are no popping sounds since I woke up this morning and I'm not limping either. I managed walking in high heels today with no limp whatsoever. This calls for music and a solo dance party in my bedroom. Yes, I'm a little euphoric tonight if you haven't noticed!

Yipee!!!!! I'm super happy for you. I am going to sound old but got to wonder: do you have good supportive shoes to wear when you're on your feet all those hours?

@lilacskies I am not shocked by heels nor am I amused. I don't want to sound mean when I tell you what I have seen as truth: I have talked with women who were in their 80s. Those women had massive foot issues that were painful and crippling. How did they get those foot problems? Because their bosses said they had to wear heels when they worked. High heeled shoes really cause harm to the back. If you already have health issues, please reconsider your footwear. Fact: you won't always be young or even middle aged. I wish you well.

Haha Thank you so much! Well, you are going to be shocked, but I wear high heels on the job. They are pointy toed pumps.

Thank you so much! I am tearing up and shaking so much! I think I might be hyperventilating. I can't wait for my parents to come home to tell them the news in person. They will be shocked.

Congratulations on getting the job. Glad your knee is better too. You don't know this guy yet. Be careful. I used to work in a night club. Lots of stories there. I hope you enjoy it.

Oh wow ....am I glad for you....hugs....yeah...that not shaking hand.....I didn't like it sweetie..he is exhibiting some sorta superiority...and that can mean exploitation....hopefully not. I really don't know how things are in your world..............costs and all that. So I don't know if the pay from online works is sufficient or not. Out here, I do know of a few openings available for me...but I am not taking them up. Personally, I would rather be a pet sitter in India. That seems rather interesting. As night club waitress I would be on edge ... not good walking with heels, and stuff in my hand...I have essential tremors. LOL Also glad that your right knee is no longer as bad as it was. God is great...he will always bless you. Hugs. :)

Thank you so much! You are so sweet. He seemed really nice, but I didn't appreciate him shaking my hand. He saw it, but completely ignored it. He didn't take his hand out of his pocket. Overall, he was nice and I got the job so I didn't think too much about it. I wish I could work online, but I haven't found any jobs that I can work from home so I have no choice, but to go out and work. I have bills to pay and I can't afford to live in my parents' house for the rest of my life unfortunately. The situation is a bit tense. Haha I completely understand. I have two years of experience working this job so I should be fine. My brother works there too. He is a bouncer. I smiled reading your sweet comment. Thank you! Hugs back!
