Despite you're from a tier 1, country do you still do budgeting? When an individual has a lot of money, he or she never cares to budget. He or she can buy anything to satisfy his or her whims. But those who are struggling, budgeting is essential to avoid wastages. In the previous year's I was so extravagant, I didn't care about the prices and the wastages. I always have money, but when I attended seminars on financial literacy, that changed my life forever. I am now good at budgeting and can suffice to live in frugality. I learned a lot and saved a lot too. What about you?

@Kandae11 that's surely be the picture of the prices of yesterday and today. It's very far from yesterday. I don't understand how the prices soar up as if never like to go down. It's worrisome.

In my country, my government would have force save 20% of the salary received for us. The employer will do a partial match which the total amount work up to 33% or 1/3 of the salary. Generally, I will try to spend without the need and I will scale down on the cost of living somehow.

@id_peace, I also like that auto deduct of 20 % from our salary. Is the 20 % deduction of your salaries auto deposited to the bank or only to be withdrawn during retirement or resignation?

@2ndchances24, I understand your situation being married and having kids and the amount set aside is intended to pay bills. The time comes you'll be able to save.

What I earn from my shop; I spend it to buy things that are very necessary. My mother has me to save,a part of my earnings first and then use the rest to buy necessary things only. That's what I do.
