It’s been awhile since I’ve ate steel cut oats. We had a small amount that I didn’t want to waste. I soaked them over night and then cooked them on the stove top briefly. They are very coarse and chewy. I prefer rolled oats, but steel cut don’t taste bad. They have several health benefits. I like that they help regulate blood sugar, good digestion and are heart healthy.
Have you ever tried them ?

I"ve never tried them and can't say I'm a fan of oats unless they're in oatmeal raisin cookies
I wish I like oats as they do have a lot of health benefits. My mom ate oatmeal almost every day for breakfast and she lived a long life.

Yes, I've had them. They take a bit longer to cook then rolled oats, but I don't notice much difference in taste.

No, I haven't. We buy rolled oats and I eat them with a sprinkle of sugar and almond milk. I don't like cooked oats. (When I was little and mom served me cooked oats, I'd tell her someone spit in them and I wasn't going to eat them. Since I would eat rolled oats with sugar and milk, she didn't force me to eat the cooked oats.)
