Stepping Away From Politics to the Oscars

Years, many years ago, the Academy Awards mattered. People raced to see the pictures that were nominated and watch the presentation like it was the Super Bowl. Things have really changed. For me, when the Matrix wasn't nominated for Best Picture, despite everyone talking about it, I lost interest. When Avatar didn't win but a film no one I know ever watched or has bothered to view free online, it cemented my view. The public means nothing, those who vote have all the power. Hence the Awards mean nothing.

If you go over the list of Oscar Winners, you'll note that movies made years ago are classics and those made within in the past 20 years are mostly nothing.

@jaylar i can figure that easily and by feeling. too bad they rely on copy cat scenarios, remakes and sound effects. no originality

@grenery8 it isn't worth the eye sight... vintage shows are so much better

I no longer bother watching because I don't know any of the new actors and actresses. Also I don't go out to the movies,
