That should be outlawed.
All they ever do is no good.
Even murdering their fellow students.
When is enough enough?
Another death of an innocent black man.
This hazing practice is nothing but murderous and torture.
It's sick.
Do other countries do this too in college?
Anyone know?

They are disgusting. I never went to college, but if I did go, I would avoid such cults altogether. Hazing is murder. I hope the parents get justice.

@RebeccasFarm I know, right? Do they pay that much in tuition to do these barbaric things? That and all the perversion happening in colleges and universities. So disgusting.

Yes, hazing happens in higher learning centers around the world. Of course, it's called different terms but it all breaks down to older students harassing students new to the college/learning establishment. Hazing is banned in almost every country but still continues in private. Deaths are reported from all over the world due to hazing practices

@DaddyEvil Sometimes people don´t understand what happens in another country. This is the situation of this Huwer journalist. All my life I have been near the university, even before I was an adult. The "mechoneo" has nothing to do with what he says. The first year students take bands to get a queen and they have to get money for the party and the crowning. So they put on funny costumes and ask for money in the streets (which the passers by smiling give them). Each school tries to get her queen but usually the biggest schools (medicine, law and engineering) have more chances. At the end of the week the queen with more votes gets crowned. The second year students and the rest of them in a minor way help the "mechones". Your link reminded me of a girl from the US who was doing a thesis about the Chilean " cueca sola". La "cueca" is the national dance here. It is danced with a man and a woman. This girl (Iwas helping her with the translation) said that women danced alone as an act of feminism. I had to explain to her that they danced alone because their men had been killed by Pinochet. They danced alone but had a picture of their loved ones pinned on their bossom.

@RebeccasFarm .........yeah. why does it take so long for something to be done? I guess there a lot of colleges around the U S so that may be part of it.

Yeah, hazing is brutal and completely unnecessary. Sadly, it's not just one country—there have been cases worldwide, though some places have stricter laws against it. It’s heartbreaking that people are still losing their lives over this.

Yes they are cruel and it really should, by now, be apparent it is not a good activity.
Nice to see you!!
