Half day Friday

Teachers have a work day today, so paraprofessionals have the day off, except we have an inservice from 1-4 pm.
I went back to work yesterday after being out sick for two days. After work we went to shop and pick up prescriptions and do laundry. I think it has been a month, or at least three weeks since we did laundry. We had Arby's while we waited.
Today I am expecting a phone call about a clinical trial for a diabetic weight loss program. We shall see if they actually call. I told them it must be before noon.
I saw my primary care doctor Monday. She said to quit taking the statin as it causes me a lot of pain and I do not rest well. I forgot to get a copy of my labs. My doctor is supposed to have some prescriptions and refills called in for me. My weight is down a bit.
I am drying my clothes here at home. It is sunny outside but also there is a chill breeze. If I did not need to go to that inservice I would be tempted to hang some of the laundry on the clothesline.
We will get our taxes done tonight. Tomorrow will be a lazy day for me since I am doing most of my weekend stuff today.
I still have a lot of congestion but the doctor did not find anything worse than a common cold when I saw her. I am drinking lemonade with some ginger in it to help me feel better.
So, I know I have not been around and that is why. I will talk to you later. Trying to catch up a little.

I hope you get in the clinical trial. They usually offer some helpful additional cash. I didn't realize you were diabetic.

Yes, diabetic, pretty well controlled. Turns out that since I do not smoke and I have not had a heart attack I did not qualify for this one. The one I qualify for is not worth it for the drive, and I am not sure I want to take the med either.

@snowy22315 This one would. Unless I was a placebo or whatever. It still would not have fit my current schedule to drive an hour to participate.

@GardenGerty Some of those diabetic studies allow you to get free GLP's.

I'm wondering if you took enough time off before returning to work... If you still don't feel well, you should stay home and rest. I hope you continue to feel better.
We've only been doing laundry when I completely run out of small clothes... about once a month now, too.
I did get a call from the doctor yesterday. They managed to run tests on the last sample I mailed in (even without the signature and it being more than 24 hours after the sample was given.) Now, they want me to go in for a colonoscopy. That was the whole reason I sent in the sample, so I wouldn't have to have a colonoscopy!
I told the nurse on the phone that I didn't want to do another one. I had one several years ago and hurt for several days afterwards.
I hope you enjoy your day...

Part of my feeling bad seems to have been the statin I was taking. I have never had a colonoscopy, so far. Probably never will. Are they saying they found something in your test that indicated a need for a colonoscopy? Be safe. I know my mom hated getting them and I think she also got at least one endoscopy. I took my sister for some, and also my husband. They did not seem to mind too much.

@DaddyEvil I would say if they did not get the sample in time then they are over compensating by wanting you to do the colonoscopy. I probably would pass on it as well.

@GardenGerty I hope the statin was most of your problem and, now that you aren't taking it, that you'll be feeling better in no time at all.
No, they aren't saying they found anything. They're saying they couldn't get a good reading from the sample I sent in, probably because it arrived too late to be used for the test, so they want me to go in for the colonoscopy now.
It might not be so bad but all I can remember from the one I had before was that I hurt afterwards.

@GardenGerty yikes how awful the insurance makes you try two before those other ones that sound better for you.

You do work very hard. I need to turn loose of the "work is my identity" mindset and start enjoying life. I like my job, but . . .

@GardenGerty I still have a social life that has nothing to do with work.

Yes the lemonade, with real lemon juice in it helps. I feel much better since stopping one of the medicines I was on.

We are not overly warm here, but pleasant enough when it is not real windy. The other people I know have just had this cough and congestion linger and linger. I have more energy today than I have for a while.
