Quality and Junk

I was watching one of my favorite YouTube content creators, Taco Stacks*, and he had parked to go across the street to pick up a bookshelf. In picking it up he made the comment that you could sure tell the difference between quality furniture and junk. I remember when I was a child and the furniture was heavy and bulky. Now they are light and if you aren't careful you could put a hand right through it. Nearly. Things just are not made as well and are not meant to last. Where the thing my family bought when I was young are still around and being used. They used to use real wood and not particle board. Now you pay a real premium for better quality furniture. Do you see the difference? *Taco Stack is a YT content creator who picks up treasures from abandoned storage units, estate sales, auctions, and people's trash. He sells them at flea markets. He lives in Pennsylvania and is in his 30s.

@JudyEv .......Yes, people don't value things anymore. Too easy to go out and buy new.

@celticeagle I know many are very wasteful and think nothing of throwing out perfectly good items.

I've seen his videos once in awhile. He finds some good things on the side of the road. I watch a few others once in awhile. Amazing what people toss away or give. I prefer old furniture and looking for something vintage or antique for when I move.

It is amazing. It's just to easy to just throw it away and get new. I like to look in the antique and thrift stores for older items.

It's a good gig he has going on there. Reselling is great money too. Yes, things today are total junk I agree.

Nope. So you have to buy more. It's rather unethical.
