Weekend Plans

Do you have any? I'll be setting up for an event at the Agricultural Horticulture Center Saturday and have been looking forward to going back. This event is in a small town in the country, actually the same one the flea market is in! The vendors are all super nice and a big variety of things are sold there. Last fall when I attended there was a lady with pickled food, honey and her husband made Elderberry Cough Syrup to add to the table. There is a lady that does homemade jellies, someone that brings produce from their garden--he has a greenhouse so excited to see what he has in store for us, a man that owns a butcher shop that brings fresh meat and venison, someone that had quilts and crocheted throws, handmade jewelry, and another lady that had all kinds of gemstones that she also had jewelry. The customers that come there are also very nice and cordial people. I've done shows in both city settings and country settings and I can tell you the country settings win! There are always a couple of rude people in the city, but I have found none in the country! Anyhow, my car is all loaded and ready to pull out bright and early in the morning at 6:15 am. Set up starts at 7 am and the event starts at 8 am. It will end at 1 pm. We have rain in the forecast tomorrow, but I think it will hold out until 2 or 3 pm--knock on wood!! Sunday, I plan on resting. But I may try to do the flea market Sunday afternoon. We will see. I miss my ladies who work the office on the weekends when I have my workday in the office! What are your weekend plans?

@kareng We have a problem. I hope my brother can solve it. But I´m not in a hurry. I have money to live well for at least 2 or 3 years.

I did well there in September. I love this place because they have free set ups on a frequent basis! And when it is not free, very low price!

I don't have, any plans for the weekend. I know people in the countryside are very polite and cordial. In the cities they are generally rude. It is the same here.

House puttering today. Since I was off yesterday except for the in service I got some of my regular errands taken care of. I am trying a recipe that hubby requested. Just waiting right now to eat. We have to "spring forward" tonight, and then church tomorrow. Hubby wants a new wallet of a style that he will likely find at a truck stop, so after church we will be on the hunt so to speak. There is a truck stop in the same town as where we go to church, just on the other side.

It was fun! I didn't make a whole lot, but got two new customers that previously used Mary Kay products. I made new friends, and the lade next to me and I had a great time talking and laughing about how silly men are . I bought a couple of neat things though!

@wolfgirl569 Yes! One was the vendor that was next to me last September. She came looking for me. I'm just glad I got two good vendors next to me and we kept each other entertained for the part of the day with no shoppers.

Wow, I wish I could go with you! We thought our oldest grandson Josh was coming this weekend, but it's next weekend. We discovered a new Mexican restaurant that was yummy and very reasonably priced.

Our weekends doings are borne out of necessity or just finding excuses to get out of the house. Of course, some of the things we do has changed a bit since I retired and can get more of the needs done during the week now. But we still at least always find SOME excuse to get out. This weekend so far all we have planned is to go to Ruler, which I didn't originally plan on, but turns out there's a few "wifey things" not on my current list that she says she needs, so I guess Ruler it is. Whatever else is still up in the air.

@kareng We ended up doing our Ruler run. We went to Schnuck's, our local grocery store. We also let mom visit her recently passed Roy's grave, plus walked around Dollar Tree a bit. It was a good day.

That sounds like fun. We do not have market like that these days. In the summer there are farmers markets selling their fresh produce and meats. We have to go to a birthday party on Saturday. It is one of the children from the playgroup that my husband brings the girls to each day. The mother of this little guy has become good friends with my husband over the years. They throw really fun parties and the food will likely be out of this world and delicious.
