Today was my event at the Old Town Market in Tylertown. I managed to get up at 5:40, get dressed and feed the cats, followed by the chickens (who were actually awake with the sun trying to come up). I then changed clothes, put a bit of makeup on and grabbed a couple of things I needed to bring with me such as a snack and a bottle of water.
Out the door at 6:15. Not too bad! I was shooting for 6 am, but wasn't off by far. I got to the Market at 7:15, which also wasn't too bad, as others were much later. I looked at the floor plan and saw that I had the same booth I was in last September. The only disappointment was the lady next to me in September was not at this event. BUT, she popped in around 9 am looking for ME! She had asked for a sample last Fall and loved it, so she came to get some makeup.
We had twice the vendors at this event vs. last September. There were about the same flow of shoppers. I did better with sales last Fall, but I had more fun shopping today!
There was a new vendor with plants and fruit trees!! She had great prices and I came home with 2 new peach trees! When I told hubby via chat that a new peach tree might be coming home with me, he said we were going to have to start cutting down trees to make room. NOT! So I bought TWO! They are both self pollinating varieties, so we should be good to go since these are both recommended for milder winters that we usually have in the South.
I also bought a lotion for the hubby that is made from all natural based ingredients. It is used for all kinds of pain, including neuropothy. I'm anxious to see how it performs. I will be dipping into this tonight!
There was a big variety of vendors there today.
Food: Crackling, Freeze Dried Candy, Girl Scout Cookies, a food truck serving Mexican, cakes and desserts, jelly and pickled foods - three vendors with jellies.
Arts and Crafts: Embroidery on sweatshirts, baby outfits, towels, etc., jewelry by several vendors, wood carvings on products and earrings,
Health: all natural body butter vendor, all natural pain relief vendor, Nutriplus by Farmasi
Beauty: Mary Kay and Farmasi
Outside: Floral vendor, Someone with chickens--they were OLD biddies (ha!) and looked rough! She also sold eggs. Garage Sale booth, Shirts and hats with Christian themes, Insurance Agent, Balloon Artist.
All in all it was a fun day! I'll be back next Saturday outdoors if weather permits!

I was excited. She had some plum trees also, but I want to see if the one in question here is going to sprout some new life first. The apple trees will not grow well here. She said she got them because she liked that variety of apples and would experiment with them. I don't think she will have much luck with them, as I don't know anyone around here that has.

Looks like you had an eventful and enjoyable day at the Old Town Market! Even though you could not quite make your 6 AM target, you were still way ahead of many others. So that’s definitely a big win. How good that a past customer came back specifically for your makeup . It definitely shows you made a lasting impression! Twice the vendors must have made for an exciting atmosphere, even if sales were not as strong as last fall. The new vendor with fruit trees was a great find and I liked the fact that you doubled down on the peach trees despite your husband's concerns! The lotion for pain relief sounds interesting—I hope it works well for him and you! Would like to learn more on the same. It could be helpful for many of us here at Mylot. With a variety of vendors around, there must have been something for everyone. Enjoy the relaxed weekend!

I will post a review on the pain relief for you! But we need to give if a couple of days of continual use to get it into our systems!
I think the market will get better each week. The next one may be a rainy day, but another free vendor day. The inside is totally booked. And she didn't put me down for inside when I booked yesterday, so I am on the outside. We will see how the weather pans out. I figure some will be discouraged by the sales and won't bother to show up.

Sounds like a fun, but probably tiring day. Not to mention tempting to buy a lot of goodies. I hope the trees do well for you.
